There is no choice of places in Marree, it's the hotel or nothing! I was not expecting much so I cannot say I was dissappointed... the "digs" we were given were actually less than basic. We were accommodated down the street from the pub, in what I would consider as "demountable" cabins. Nothing more than a long shipping type container,... More

Forget all of the reviews before October 2011. The Marree Pub now has new owners and it is now a friendly and pleasant place to stay. Don't expect 5-star big city luxury as you are really in the middle of nowhere in Marree. The Marree Hotel is definitely a good, authentic outback pub. The main building is a lovely old... More

We stayed 3 nights in Marree. We had a cabin next the swimming pool and loved our stay there. The cabins are excellent - a queen and a single bed, which are firm and comfy, the water is hot and the pool was lovely - cold (April) but invigorating. Phil is a great publican - always made sure we had... More

We stayd one night at the hotel. The food, breakfast and dinner, were tasty and well prepared. The owners, Phil and Marilyn Turner, are very friendly hosts. The hotel is definitely recommended. More

We recently spent the night at the Marree Hotel while on a road trip with our kids. We found the new owners very friendly and more than happy to help with any request. The service was great and we enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere of this lovely old outback pub. We spent a few hours with some of the... More

Our stay here kicked of on a high note when I opened the door and saw the Rose colored towels arranged on the beds! Originally booked in for one night, our stay was doubled when rains closed the Marree to Lyndhurst road. We stayed in the cabins out the back of the hotel, and son and heir was delighted to... More

Publican not very friendly, barked orders from the time we arrived. When we went to have dinner got turned away until the tourists on the buses were fed - we had three children. Not much else to say about Marree - don't stop. More

Yes, it was the outback, but a bit more care of the rooms would be appreciated. To turn on our airconditioning we had to use the fuse box, as the controller had gone missing. Okay, but really! The bath mat (at least there was one) consisted of a towel, cut in half and hemmed. No fly spray in the rooms... More

We stayed at the Marree for two nights in October as part of a tour group. I wasn't expecting much after reading the reviews before our trip. However I thought the dongas out the back were fine, aircon, bed was good and bathroom work well. I can tell you grumpy Laurie was still and still grumpy. However we also met... More
