What a find! We too wish we could have stayed longer. Krista and Corey urged us to stay but we were just beginning our drive to Port Douglas from Brisbane. We almost didn't get any further, The Bali Style cottage was luxurous, the sunset view perfect. We loved the detail of furnishings, the cared wood shutters and window frames, and... More

We came across the Beach Shacks by chance. We arrived in 1770 to go out on the boat trip to Lady Musgrave Island the following day. We were shown 'The Lighthouse' shack and I was gobsmacked. It was beautiful and the view fantastic. I couldn't believe that we could stay here. I thought I had arrived in Paradise. We stayed... More

Bali style without the bombings, drug trafficking or hawkers. Had a great stay and loved the trip to Lady Musgrave Island. Watch the stairs on the way back home after a few drinks! More

The Beach Shacks were stunning, with an awesome view of the beach, 1770 is a beautiful spot, the accomodation was very good, it was clean, and very comfortable and provided a good nights sleep. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer ! More

Stayed in the 'lighthouse' room. Almost everything about this place was awesome - the balinese decor was fabulous, heaps of privacy, private deck, friendly hosts. Everything that is shown on their website is accurate. 'The Tree' restaurant / bar next door serves excellent food - they must have a pretty good chef, as the quality far exceeds anything you'd expect... More

What a beautiful little gem! The shacks are perfectly appointed, immaculate and the location could not be better. We enjoyed the most incredible 10 days here over Christmas and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a relaxed beach holiday :) More

Loved this place, so different from the norm and the location is unbeatable. There is only 4 villas/huts with the bottom two being 2 bed-roomed. There is plenty of stairs to go up if you are staying in the top two rooms however you can enter from the top of the resort. There is a guest washing machine behind villa... More

Your excellent review is very much appreciated. As an added bonus we are very happy to advise that our little piece of paradise here at 1770 is finally being supplied with 'town water', so soon we will be 'bore water' free. A few long awaited modern conveniences will be a wonderful support to our unique unspoilt area. Thank you again. More

My family stayed four nights in the smallest accommodation, a studio on the top terrace. With a two year old daughter, we would have preferred something with a separate bedroom, but the Aussie school holidays had filled the place up by the time we tried to reserve. Good: the view, the hosts (incredibly gracious), the general construction and decor of... More

Everything here is perfect, the Town of 1770 is the most relaxed place I think I have ever had the pleasure to visit. The locals are welcoming and you get a real small town feel. No photo's of this accomodation can do it justice, every attention to detail has been meticulously pulled off to great success, right down to the... More

My husband and his parents stayed for 2 nights in March. We all loved the view, the shacks themselves and thought the staff were very helpful. The view from the shacks is spectacular and so nice to be able to eat on the open deck in the evening as the sun sets. I think that it is great value for... More
