Tonight we left Kakadu and are staying at the Goymarr/Mary River Inn, the first caravan park outside the south end of the park. It is kind of a different world out here than where we stayed in The Kak, higher elevation so much cooler temps, not hardly any other guests, and lots of beautiful birds! The tourist park itself is a little more humble than the other places we stayed, but very clean and with nice showers and a cute little pool. The wifi extends all the way to our camping spot (joy!) Not much in the way of eats for sell, but there is a pool table and some nice new looking grills. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Mary River Roadhouse and it was excellent. Under New Managment and gin bak to Mary River Roadhouse. Rooms were clean and well stocked. Pool was refreshing an inviting every day Food was amazing and cooked fresh daily New Managment is defiantly what the place needed. Friendly, helpful and happy for a cold beer & a chat. We'll be returning on our travels

We stayed at Goymarr Roadhouse (originally known as Mary River Roadhouse) in mid July 2014 in one of the chalets. It’s a little basic. Bought meat from Paul at a very reasonable price and used the BBQ to cook it. Cool beer is also a good price. Room was clean but basic, no free Wi-Fi! All in all, good value for the money considering the location

We stayed at Goymarr Roadhouse (originally known as Mary River Roadhouse) at the end of June on a powered site. Its a very basic park and quite rundown. Price was $35 pn. We found their phone had been disconnected for a few days prior when I tried to phone so therefore had to pay cash on arrival as no credit card facilities without phone line. On arrival we found only 3 other caravans on the site but were surprised when coming back from an afternoon drive to find we were the only ones left in the park. We then realised the power and water had been cut off. My advice would be if you needed a stop around here to check out the site before booking and paying..

Stayed with two mates I was travelling with. After a long drive on the road during wet season we came across this place which was An absolutely fantastic stay. Great value for money. Very friendly staff and Paul was extremely friendly and welcoming. If you want to share a drink he's the pal for it.

It was more then we expected. The rooms were clean and fresh. Great facility's. Staff were wonderful, friendly and went out of their way for us. Its a great place to stay if visiting southern Kakadu. Only 5 minutes from the Kakadu gates and the staff gave us heaps of information on places to go in Kakadu. Meals were restaurant quality and we found it very well priced considering its remote location. We highly recommend Goymarr Tourist Park and will stay again I'm sure :)

Goymarr Tourist Park is in the mid of nowhere and it is the only hotel after about 200 kms almost in the wild. The price was very high, the highest in the Kakadu park and there is absolutely nothing there. We had a room for 5 persons and there wa sonly one mug, 1 spoon, a microwave but no plates, no Forks, etc. . Difficult to have breakfast in these conditions.... Should I do this trip again, I would drive on for another 60 km and stop in Pine Creek, which at least a nice small town.

We stayed here at a caravan site for a couple of nights and used it as a base to visit Gunlom Falls. The road to Gunlom was quite bad and rough for a van so we were glad to leave the van at Goymarr. The location is good for accessing Southern Kakadu. The park is pretty basic but the facilities clean when we were there. Not much at the park but it serves it's purpose.

We arrived just after 5:30pm on a Saturday and had to seek out the owner/person running the premises. We were told our room was already unlocked and the key was inside (in a tone that implied we should have known this already) and were then shunned away. It also appeared to be quite an effort for them to sell us a meat pack and some softdrink too, in order for us to have a meal for the evening. Considering we were the only people staying there this particular night, I would have thought they could have made more of an effort to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The room was mostly clean, however there were alot of bugs in the room and the toilet was filthy upon arrival. Overall a quite unpleasant experience. Being in such a remote location, I would have like to have felt comfortable and welcome, however this was certainly not the case on our visit.…

This is a really good value literally on the southern doorstep of Kakadu, and much cheaper than any accommodation inside the park. We’d spent 1 night in Jabiru (which was lovely, but you paid for it) and then our next night here. As the previous reviewer said it’s the closest accommodation to Gunlom Falls, which are so beautiful. We arrived in the afternoon, had a rest and swim, used the BBQ to cook dinner (they provide cutlery and plates if you ask at the roadhouse/reception and sell BBQ meat packs). The room itself was cosy, all 5 of us were in together, with a triple bunk and double bed in the 1 room. We had a small fridge, TV, sink, kettle, toaster and bathroom. You certainly wouldn’t stay a week, but for an overnight stay was clean and cosy and just a great spot. In the morning we went back into the park, was a 45min drive to Gunlom Falls (incl. 37km on dry corrugated roads, which is accessible with 2WD in the dry season). We joined the 8.30am ranger tour that’s run Monday mornings and climbed to the series of infinity pools and swam at the top – simply stunning. Headed back to Goymarr for lunch and then onto Katherine.…
