We found the Pelican Lodge extremely charming and Nancy was wonderful! If you are looking for a place with character... this is for you. If you are looking for the bland, impersonal feeling of a chain hotel... then keep looking. Breakfast was delicious, the rooms were clean, and the rooftop deck had an amazing view. We wished we could have... More

My mom and I stayed at the Lodge and were both disappointed. While most bed and breakfast's are well put together/vintage-y...the Pelican Lodge was in need of improvement. We were told we were in their "nicest room" which was crammed with old furniture. The TV remote didn't work, and to change the channel we had to stand on tip toe... More

We booked 3 nights at the Pelican but the on the day of our arrival we had a motorcycle wreck. My fiancee was left with a broken wrist and ankle and I received 3rd degree burns on my stomach and an injury to my upper thigh. Due to the time and location of the accident we proceeded on to the... My husband and I arrived at the Pelican Lodge to find out our reservations were for a different time frame than we had booked. The entire Island was booked. Phil blamed us for giving him the wrong dates! Like we do not know when we are vacationing! He used profanity at my husband and tried to start a fight. We... More

We weren't expecting much when we arrived based on the fact that every other place was booked up but the Pelican still had rooms available, but it was more disappointing than we expected. We were placed in "the other building" which is not only a completely different building, it is at least 1/4 mile away from the main building. The... More

We had a wonderful time at the Pelican Lodge. Phil and his wife were very nice and treated us like family. We had a run in with the Hyde Co. Sherriff on the beach and Phil and his wife pitched in to help us out in need. The owners were great and the place was wonderful right next to the... More

poorly kept, unmowed grounds. Hard to stand up fully in all parts of the room, even at the head of your bed due to sloping ceilings. A feeling of unclean, aged carpet and poor decorations. Just hated it. More

our reservations were summarily cancelled 48hrs in advance of our arrival because the owner had heard a weather forecast that predicted rain that day. i am a VFR only pilot (visual flight rules), which means i require at a 1000' ceiling to fly legally. it rarely gets that bad for long periods. this guy cancelled our reservations because he said...
