The Blue Heron in Nags Head is a family owned motel that is always clean but a bit dated. We have stayed there many, many times. The folks working the property are extremely nice and very friendly. Bring your own pillows as the pillows on our bed were flat.

I almost hate to share this "treasure"!! Friendly staff, convenient location, even the oven was clean in our efficiency!! And there was plenty of soap.

When we checked in we wondered about the dated aspects (the stove had push button heat controls) of the room. Just spent 3 day stay at the Blue Heron. Was a fantastic 3 days. Had a 3rd floor room with full kitchen, the view from the room of the ocean could not be beat !!! They have my business from now on. Going to be a week next year. Jim & Pat Georgia

great location,great views hotel staff very nice if you stay here get the room with the kitchen so you can have coffee and breakfeast there the l restaurants are very crowded in the am OBX is a great place to vacation take the ride down to to the ferry and go to ocrachoke island it is the most amazing place!!!!!!

My girlfriend and I visited the Blue Heron last year in October/November and we were very happy with our stay. The room was very comfortable, was near many attractions, close to the supermarket, and with a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor, you have a great view of the ocean. Would happily stay again.
