Does not look like much from the outside, but the rooms are very clean and the staff extremely nice. I would stay here again if traveling to Buxton, NC. This is a laid back place and a great town to relax close to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.

Here's the positives- clean, large rooms, good location, helpful owners, reasonable rates. On the flip side-rooms are very dated (dark hard wood paneling, worn carpets, tiny bathroom, old bed linens, no toiletries except for sliver of soap, no blow dryer in room, and plastic rubber mattress pads. Needed to stay at the Cape Pines twice as my summer home in Rodanthe was being repaired from the wrath of Irene. Both times I was impressed. Some rooms are non Pet and the others are pet friendly. Both are exceptionally clean and well maintained. Prices are very reasonable. Rooms are spacious and you can always stop at the office... More

We were very pleased with our 2 night stay at Cape Pines Motel. The room was very spacious and clean. The motel was very close to the sites. Bill, the owner also gave us great ideas of places to eat. We will return in the future.

Stayed here on the recommendations of TripAdvisor members and it turned out to be a good decision. Our room was very room and clean. Carpet condition is always big to me and our room looked really good. Anyway, I definitely recommend this motel. The only knock is there was no breakfast that I can recall.

We stayed here for one night during a quick trip to OBX with the our dogs. I love that our pets were welcome and they have an excellent fenced in yard out back where the dogs can run. I stayed here for 3 nights back in May 2011 for a pelagic birding trip from Hatteras. It's a nice little motel. Clean, large rooms with convenient parking. A handy supermarket across the street and restaurants close by. Cape Hatteras was further away than I expected but I was very happy with my choice of hotel.

This was the last night of a week staying in chain motels, so it was a real welcome change. It was like being home already. It is not a normal cookie cutter chain hotel.
