I stayed here while my son visited Appalachian State. I didn't expect it to be fancy since it's a learning hotel center, but I did expect it to be clean. It was not. Stayed here when moving our son into ASU. The good points were, it was very convenient being "on campus" and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate at the restaurant and the food was very good; the wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes & wines available.

We stayed overnight and found the place to be comfortable, clean and huge. The room was dated, with old style Tv, sink out in sleeping area, dirty carpet and small bath.
We dined in dining room, which provided large viewing windows, but, with no view, non-experienced service staff, but, food was average, but, costly.

Adequate, but disappointing for the price. While set in a beautiful location, the rooms are small, outdated, faded, and musty smelling. The room was generally clean, but mine had a used, unclean glass on the sink. The continental breakfast offered much fewer choices than you find at cheaper motel chains. Overall disappointed in my stay there for the price.

Rates were reasonable. The view during lunch and dinner in the dining room were very nice. The food was great. The Continental breakfast and that eating area needs improvement. The rooms, bathrooms and outside need updating but the beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.
