A nice old school motel. The rates are affordable and the location in close to the parkway and Blowing rock. the room are clean and well maintained. There are is a pool as well as some outdoor areas to hang out. I personally would rather stay in a owner operated location than a hotel chain. This fits the bill.

An ideal mountain location with easy access to the town of Boone itself as well as Blowing Rock and the Parkway. Great to have the pool and peaceful grounds out back to sit and relax. We had lots of fun playing shuffleboard. I would recommend Aplen Acres to anyone visiting the area. The owners are very friendly and most accommodating,

This motel is in a lovely location, right off of 321. It's "yard" is beautiful, has plenty of area and equipment to keep visitors occupied: swing set, swimming pool, shuffle board and lots of yard space. The staff is friendly and helpful. We will definitely come here again when in the area.

We took a spur of the moment trip to Grandfather Mountain on July 3rd & couldn't find any other room. The room was more like a "$29.95" room instead of the $74.95 that we paid. Our family of 4, (kids 16 and 13) spent one night at Alpen Acres and I think it will be the last... nothing horrible, just was hoping for more. Pat at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.
