Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We traveled here exploring the area from Raleigh, my brother and his gf visiting from the UK (he-37/she-27) they had their UK drivers licenses and they were told they could not be accepted as it was a North Carolina ABC liquor law..(we've yet to find it) we've not had this issue anywhere else..so heads up if you are international Visitors or traveling with international guests. Needless to say was not worth the trip back to Raleigh to get their passports!! Disappointed to say the least looked like a nice spot for a glass as we explored the area. The rest of Banner Elk/Boone did not disappoint we were able to get served at other establishments who too were not aware of this "law" I would not go back though.

My wife and I used to live right behind the winery and vineyard location but, alas, we moved before winery opened. Had to swing by to check it out and all I can say is WOW! Beautiful location and supremely friendly staff. Amanda is so incredible; she is fully half the reason to come visit! Loved all the wines we sampled and we took home more than a couple of bottles. Looking forward to our next visit! 6 out of 5 stars.

Very friendly staff and wonderful wines! We had an amazing flight. I purchased the white reserve (my favorite) and the red reserve. We didn’t stay but stopped for the wine tastings. So beautiful here! Relaxing and wonderful scenery. Highly recommended!

The wines are amazing, and you can get a flight and enjoy it outside on the couches sprinkled throughout the property. It is a gorgeous setting! The kids even had fun checking out all the fish in the pond.

We have visited the winery about 3 times now, all in different seasons. They have beautiful grounds to sit and sip. There is also a beautiful fireplace inside however in the years I have been it has never been lit even in snowy temperatures. That would be a nice addition. We did sit by it and enjoy the time with friends. It is beautiful sitting both inside and out. There are tastings as well if you are not sure what you want to try that is a good way to start. We take home cases of our favorite to wines to enjoy throughout the year and to give a gifts to our friends and family. Bring some things to nibble on if you would like and pets are welcome. We have even seen children on the property as well. Overall a very nice way to spend the day sitting and enjoying a good glass of vino and company. Take some pictures and then put the phone away and enjoy.

We enjoyed our stay at the Banner Elk Winery Villa. The villa is beautiful and very comfortable. We enjoyed the wine and the people we got to know there. They provided a nice elopement package that we were happy with, although information on the website is not kept up to date so I would advise people to call and visit the winery before making a decision to use it for a wedding venue. The location is close to Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway so there are many beautiful options for wedding pictures outside or inside their beautiful villa.

I would think not two times, but three times before reserving this house. My friends and I reserved this house for 4 nights for the New Year. However, they canceled us without any reason or explanation why. Our guess is that someone called them and offer them more money. But we paid whatever they asked. Anyway, they left us now without being able to book something at that time, so our plans are ruined. I would NEVER do something like this. So, NO, I don’t recommend this house. Book something else if you can. One last thing that I can say is, SHAME ON YOU OWNERS!!!!!

Well, we did just come from Grandfather Winery so that factored in how this place was perceived. For atmosphere and wine selection, Grandfather is way better. This place- I liked the room, it was very comfy and I could hang out there. Liked all the art on the walls. Perfect to have wine there. But you get the flight and it's in plastic cups. Big downer. Go outside and it loses the appeal. There are houses/cabins everywhere, it just doesn't feel like a vineyard. The pond is pretty, but the building and the outdoor structures they've built are not. It needs more flowers and landscaping. But even with that, the other houses would still be there. We did the red flight- they were all good, liked the cabernet the best. Glad we went, but just good, not great. TA's buttons go from Average to Very Good, no choice for anything in between.

A very lovely winery and the servers behind the wine bar are so helpful and fun. We got the wine flight and cheese selection. It was a nice start to the afternoon. There is some fun art hanging and adds ambiance to the place.Very relaxing place to hang out with our friends. Some of their wine are quite good.

Nice place to sit and relax as you enjoy the wine flavors being offered. Some nice gifts and flavorful wines. Enjoy the day! Four generous tastings and then buy whatever makes you happy and enjoy it in a nice atmosphere . Bring your puppies with you if they are polite.
