We are sorry that Brian & Trish Blechynden did not enjoy their stay at Ford House. After the first night, we offered a refund, gave them a box of Belgian chocolates and paid them back early the next week. During the particular long weekend, we tried to rectify the noise problem by getting the plumber, electrician, air-conditioning engineer to visit,... More

Ford House is a bit like a wonderland! Every room is a shop full of wonderful knick nacks, the breakfast area is in the children's / Christmas shop and the table is set like you're eating a fabulous Christmas lunch. The rooms are quaint and individually styled. The only downside is a shared bathroom, but it was spacious and well... More

Thank you for staying at Ford House. We really enjoyed your visit. We have three rooms that have a shared bathroom because it is in historic Ford House, built 116 years ago. The whole house is victorian in decor. However, we have six other rooms, all with their own private ensuite, and most also have a spa. We have tried... More

Upon your first foot step into this place you can see it is special. From the amazing collectables in the gift shop to the relaxing, laidback, country feel accomodation that is beautifully decorated in many different ways depending on which house you stay in. This is very much a family built buisness that also brings their guests close to their... More

This place is beautiful! As soon as you step into Ford House you can see that this is place is special. The garden surrounding Ford house and the room we stayed in (ballroom) are beautiful. The breakfast at the 100 year old barn was a great experience with homemade bread and jams and preserved fruits and cereals and then topped... More

absolutely beautiful surroundings, the hosts were lovely, nice and friendly, oh and the gift shop was wonderful, I spent a fortune. We walked into our room and wow it was stunning. On the surface. Unfortunately the cleanliness let it down. the bathroom and toilet were spotless and the linen and table surfaces also spotless, but the bed head had an... More

Thank you for your comments posted yesterday. We endeavour to clean the rooms as best we can, and that is why at eye level everything seems fine. We are glad you pointed out the dust and cobwebs, we have spent all day doing those areas above our view, and will extend this to all other rooms tomorrow, and will include... More

I have stayed at Ford House a number of times over the years and, although it does not seem possible, it keeps getting better! After being warmly welcomed by hosts Ken and Jenny we experienced a feast of treats. Our room was a tastefully decorated delight offering very comfortable beds along with soft and luxurious towels to pamper us in... More

Beautiful quiet rooms with comfortable beds, filled with original arts and antiques, lovely linens and furnishings and surrounded by a made-for-wandering garden and river. Breakfast has to be experienced to be believed - great food, fresh-cooked by Ken, with everyone seated around a long table, in a barn filled to the brim with shelves of home-preserved fruits and jams, tableware... Ford House is the unusual place filled with old world charm and elegance while maintaining a contempory feel. The gardens offer respite and peace especially when one needs to rest and regroup. I did plenty of that. I loved the breakfast setting and if you've never had breakfast with strangers it is to be recommended. Memorable conversations and stories raise... More
