My husband and I stayed at the lodge last weekend and are full of praise: everything just feels right, the whole setting, the tastefully (and warmly!) furnished rooms, the great food, and last but not least the warm and efficient service of Marina. The only negative thing is the access road which is in bad repair - but this is... More

Chilcabamba is a wonderful and welcoming place for all natur-loving people who appreciate a tasteful country-style lodging - hikers, trekkers, mountaineers, horse riders, bikers, etc. Chilcabamba is excellently located on the Paramo not too far from the outside Cotopaxi National Park boundary and embedded between the volcanoes/mountains of Cotopaxi 5'897m, Sincholagua 4'919m, Pasochoa 4'200m, Rumiñahui 4'712m and Corazon 4'786m. Wow, what a location! A beautifully designed and built rustic lodge made of straw bales with amazing views all around. Surrounded by five volcanoes/mountains. A warm welcome from Marina who looked after us so well. She always had our stove lit in our room for when we returned from our walks, by then in need of a little warmth, and... More

Nice touch having the telescope for viewing Cotopaxi. Views from the rooms were wonderful.

Chilcabamba is a small charming lodge providing beautiful views over Cotopaxi. A great place to stay if planning for horseback riding or exploring Cotopaxi area. It is also excellent value for money. The resident dogs are very friendly and fun. The food is simple but tasty and the hospitality great. The swedish oven provides welcome warmth in the room on... More

Chilcabamba was just a perfect stop for us on our 10 day, off the beaten path Ecuador. We were looking for something close to Cotopaxi and wanted a small, boutique feel without paying $300+ a night...this was just perfect! First of all, the setting is just spectacular! Unobstructed views of Cotopaxi, wow. At night you can see so many stars... More

We stayed there in September and loved the place. The lodge is located in a very peaceful area surrounded by volcanos. We saw the Cotopaxi from the very cosy living room - very impressive. The rooms are very comfortable (shower and/or bath) with great style. Flowers (roses) everywhere, decoration in the rooms, lots of brickstones, only natural building material used... More
