Sea Lion is like nothing else. Within a short walk there are three (or more?) types of penguin in huge numbers, as well as sea lions, elephant seals, and birds in abundance. The place is deserted - the lodge takes a maximum of about 15 and that is the entire population of the island - so when you walk it... More

Sea Lion Lodge is the only place to stay on this enchanting island, and one could not ask for more comfortable accommodations. We were there for 2 days in February 2011, and were sad to leave. The meals were uniformly excellent and the service hospitable and very helpful. The Gentoo Penguins are a stone's throw (but don't!) from the lodge,... More

Four species of penguins, albatrosses, petrels, lots of gulls, geese, and ducks, southern sea lions, elephant seals, and orcas - a wildlife treasury! There is one flight per week from Santiago and Punta Arenas, Chile, to the Falklands Islands. So you have to stay there one or two full weeks. The tour operators will make all the arrangements for lodgings... More

We, with our children, had a great 2 days here. Jenny was very friendly and helpful and we felt that our 4 children (aged between 3 & 8) were welcomed and were not an 'imposition' on the lodge. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The rooms were all en-suite and comfortable. We couldn't... More

We stayed here in January - purpose built lodge for tourists - not luxury accomodation - but clean and comfortable - run by very efficient warden Jenny Luxton and 3 chilean staff. Takes around 19-20 guests - mainly doubles en suite. Max around 14 guests when we were there. Gentoo penguin colony visible from lounge window. Short walk about 5... More

We have been here twice. First time I had low expectations since it is billed as the most southerly lodge in the world. Unlike Pebble Island where the service is indifferent, Jenny is a very attentive hostess. The Chilean staff are marvelous. Wonderful food served with a flair. But the most important thing is the wildlife. Within a ten minute... More

The lodge was comfortable and the room just fine, I liked the dinners and the lamb was brill. The packlunches where very good particulaly liked the treats. What a fab place, never been anywhere like it before. I went to Sealion Island in February 2010 for an overnight stay with my two sisters (we are Irish) and my two Falkland Island Native great-nieces for an overnight stay. We couldn't believe what the place was like. Peaceful, serene and the hospitality was wonderful. Jenny made us feel so... More

The sea Lion Lodge is touted as The World's Remotest Southerly Lodge Hotel. Sounds good to me. This place is great. The manager is named Jenny Luxton. She is very freindly and makes sure all is good. The lodge is ncie. the rooms have a king bed and an ensuite bath. They are clean and comfortable. All meals, breakfast, lunch,... More

OK, it's not the Hilton. But you wouldn't want that in a place like Sea Lion Island, where the wildlife is simply out of this world. Having breakfast with 500 penguins virtually knocking on the back door just can't be beaten. Having said that, the lodge actually is very good. Sure, the water pressure in the showers could be better,... More
