It is a long drive to get to this place. The views from the terrace across the lake and volcanos are amazing. The rooms are a bit out dated, thin matresses which was somewhat uncomfortable. Free coffee and tea during the day and dinner at night is fine. Drive to the gorilla trekking is still at least one hour.

It was a bit difficult to get there but it's worth evry effort. It was like arriving in paradise. A wonderful view over lake Mutanda with the volcanoes of Virunga on the horizon. Charming, friendly, good food, nice tents ....and many birds around.

We arrived in torrential rain and the road is not for the faint hearted - we had to leave our vehicle at the top of the drive and the walk down to the lodge is pretty slippery and steep but when you get there the staff are friendly and it is a cosy place situated right on the lake which... More

During our travelling tour in south - west Uganda we had booked a three night stay because the highlight focus was " Gorilla tracking Nshongi family" . The location on the lake shore and panoramical views of surrounding hills and mountains are really exceptional and most facinating . On arrival , late afternoon we immediately realised the accomodation wasn't according... More

We travelled as a family to explore South-Western Uganda and decided on a whim to extend our itinerary from Kabale to Kisoro. Somehow, we decided to make it all the way to lake Mutanda and chose Nkuringo lodge for accomodation. The route to get there is not for the feeble of heart (or those afraid of heights) but the views... More

I visited this place when it was called Mgahinga Safari Lodge. It is now called Nkuringo Safari Lodge. Both the names are singularly inappropriate. It is neither in Mgahinga nor near Nkruringo. Is it a plot to mislead or just careless? On my 2003 visit I felt its location superb and the access could have been better. Service was slack... More

We had to spend a night in Kisoro, but we were reluctant to stay in the city, so we look for a comfortable place in the surrondings. There is only 14 km. from Kisoro to this lodge, but the sight change completely: it seems an Asian landscape more than many lakes in Asia. Nkuringo is a very big lake with... More
