PRO: Clean room with comfortable bed clean shared bath with no waiting Decent breakfast served quickly Short walk to market Nice manager CON: No a/c available The mosque was LOUD at 5am (however, the early rising allowed me to catch the morning market being set up, which was a cool photo opportunity) re: the price... after traveling in Thailand, it... Rooms were nice enough, but communal bathrooms were absolutely filthy and extremely smelly to the extent that they were entirely unusable. No toilet roll, the toilet seats were constantly wet and nothing was cleaned for the entire 3 days that we spent there. Breakfast was VERY slow, we had to ask for bread, tea and coffee, and had to stand... More

Room was fine n decent for the price but the bathrooms were disgusting and getting toilet roll was near impossible! Right next to mosque so call to prayer at 5 am very loud! No real communal area, wifi poor and the staff can't cope if they have more than 4 guests. Breakfast was slow n the didn't have anywhere for... More

Very nice safe hotel for a short stop in stone town , old stone town and markets are 7min by foot , or by taxi for 2$ the staff is very nice and helpful, I won't recommend it for long term stays as the rooms don't have shelfs to put your things no hooks or hangers of any kind. The... More

Pros: Location - slightly outside of the core but near Shangani which is a popular road for Westerners, Nice Staff - friendly and helpful, liked that they always knew my name, Free Airport pickup - driver was waiting at airport with a sign for the hotel even though flight was nearly 2 hours late from DAR. Cons: Price $40/night with... More

Maniz house is one of the most welcoming places I have ever been to. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and they really go the extra mile to make their guests happy. They helped us organise trips on the island, they made sure we get the best prices possible as it is quite easy to be tricked when you... More

The rooms here are simple, but tastefully appointed and clean, the bed was comfortable and the AC was a blessing. The shared bathrooms were also kept clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. My only cautionary note would be that Mnazi is slightly out of the main hub of Stowntown. For people travelling together this is no problem at all... More

We truly enjoyed our stay. It was less than 5 min walk from center of Stonetown and we actually enjoyed being a smidge outside of the main area to ensure quiet evenings and nights. Staff was excellent. Rooms veryclean with hot showers and good AC. The owner was so awesome he not only gave us a free lift to the... More

Mnazi house is THE place to stay in Zanzibar. From the beginning to the end of our stay, we could not have asked for anything more. The rooms are fantastic value for money, each decorated with a princess-looking bed, air-conditioned and some with well-sized ensuites. The staff, sudi, ana and rico could not have been more helpful. They helped us... More

Such a great little place. The staff are simply amazing! They helped us so much in organising our trip, including touristy trips, buses and flights. The breakfast is great and the location is extremely close to the bustling centre of Stonetown, just a few minute walk away. I would truly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to...
