This camp is situated on an island, 30 minutes drive off the park entrance and another 10 minutes boat trip. The camp itself very beautiful, the tents huge and very nicely decorated, lounge area at the river bank. Food very good and each night served elsewhere as a surprise. Very romantic. Staff and guides very friendly and helpful. Very interesting... More

we stayed at this amazing camp in november 2010 for 3 nights before moving on to zanzibar for a week on the beach. we couldn't speak highly enough of the camp, the location and all the staff. we were met by kiki, one of the game guides at the airstrip, who proceded to take us the long way home- a... just back after 3 days at selous wilderness camp in the beautiful Selous Nat'l Park. it was all amazing and surprising in so many ways. I had been on safari before in SA and Botswana but this beat them hands down. The only niggle was arriving at a landing strip that wasn't actually at Selous. The warm welcome from Rashid... More

From the friendly guide (kiki) picking us up from the airstrip to the excellent food served on the river's edge our experience at the camp was amazing. I am bewildered that anyone could give the camp anything less than an excellent rating. The food was great and the camp set up made us feel as if we were totally isolated... More

This place gave us the best, best memories of our time in the Tanzanian bush. We tremendously enjoyed the wonderful tent, our bath in the open air, the amazing meals (at different places in the camp) which Natasha prepared herself (Michelin quality), the full attention of all the staff, great game and boat drives (thanks to guide Kiki) and the... For a starter: do not accept tent number 3. It is next to the common area, so you hear everything. When people drink at the bar at night, when the staff prepares for breakfast late at night and when people are having an early breakfast it will disturb you in your sleep. The tents are lovely decorated and the outdoor... More

We had a very memorable 5 nights at this camp. Right from the start is was special: from the game drive from the airstrip, the boat trip past the hippos and the greeting as we arrived and it only got better. The atmosphere for every evening meal was special and different. Don't want to say too much as it would... More

What a wonderful stay- we were greeted by a very friendly Game Drive guide (Dua), as well as several giraffes that had to be shooed off the unway so our small plane could land. Then we saw more animals inluding zebra and umpalas. After a couple of hours drive (extended for our benefit) we arrived at the rufiji river where... More

We had a fantastic time - the setting of the camp is beautiful on the river; the "tent" was beautiful romantic and very comfortable; the camp is very small so you get a very intimate experience; the boat safari and game drives were great (we were usually the only people with our guides) in an open jeep in an uncrowded... We were delighted with out stay at Wilderness Camp which was a real adventure way beyond our expectations. Landing on a grass runway in the bush, seeing giraffes and impalas, fording a huge river and being welcomed by native drummers were just part of the arrival process. The camp is managed by a brilliant lady called Natasha who delivers perfect... More
