Travelling along the dirt road to the camp, I knew that we were in for the real thing! Selous is about 6 hours away from Dar es Salaam which was the major city we landed in. Passing the sporadic villages with children running along our vehicles and seeing the colourful kangas hanging out to dry was the Africa I was... More

Only drawback is that it is not in the Game Reserve. The drive through the village to and from the Reserve is quite interesting. The early morning walking safari and the boat trip were outstanding. The food was good to excellent. This is no reflection on SRSC, but I cannot imagine how hot and humid it must be during the... More

We went to the riverside safari camp for ourfirst leg of our honeymoon and were not dissapointed. Arriving at the bush airstrip we were picked up buy open jeep and then taken instantly on safari seeing various animals within a minute. We then got taken back to the lodge for dinner and then we went on a river safari by... More

I went to the Selous Riverside Safari Camp for my honeymoon at the beginning of September, although I had a wonderful time there were a few things I wish I'd known... 1. When you arrive you are greeted by a man (the guide who will take you around the reserve) who will drive you to the camp. This drive will... More

We spent 4 nights at the Selous Riverside Safari Camp whist on our honeymoon. We were met at the airstrip by a driver from the camp, and what a perfect start to the safari. The small plane landed at the airstrip and within 10 minutes of landing we'd seen our first animals!! We were greetd by the manager Clive who... More

Whilst not actually being inside the reserve we did not find this a problem. The drive from the reserve takes you through a typical village and gives you a good insight into how the locals live. We found the accommodation to be of a high standard, and could not fault the food at all, the chocolate cake for breakfast was... More

We stayed at the Selous Riverside Safari Camp for a short safari (4 days/3 nights): The quality of our stay was excellent: very tasty food, nicest hosts, large clean and comfortable room. Our giudes were extremely knowlegeble on any question concerning the wild life and nature of the reserve. More

We stayed at Selous Riverside Safari Camp for the first 4 days of our honeymoon. We were actually going on the safari with Leopard Tours (which wasn't really explained properly to us by Leopard Tours - it wasn't really a problem but we were confused by the guide not actually being from the Safari camp). We drove from Dar Es... More

We enjoyed staying three nights at Selous Riverside Camp- the property was beautifully situated o the Rufiki River and the sunrises and sunsets were incredible. Our tent was large and the bed- the bed was fabulous- not too hard, not too soft- the most comfortable bed we slept in during safari (most of the beds in our camps/lodges tended toward... More
