I have stay there with my dog in "that special room" Small but sufficient for one adult and one big dog. I found the room clean--I have eaten there and the food is true home indian cooking and delicious. The host and hostess are warm and welcoming and eager to please. The site itself cannot be beat--the sound of the... More

Too bad I didn't read the reviews before booking a one-night stay that I thought would be a nice getaway for my wife and I. This place was unacceptable, and the room was a glorified tent with sheets and pillows smelling like they had been outside for weeks. The heat did not work, and the air inside the room was... More

This is a very dirty facility. How dirty? You can't be without flip flops while in your room, especially the bathroom. The carpets are diabolically filthy, there were blood droplets on our sheets (not ours) and the towels were all stained with brown stuff. It took the hot water over 15 minutes to work and then there was the MOLD... More

I stayed there two years ago by myself because I wanted to get away from city. Upon arrival, the owner greeted to me and showed me and explained that there was no power due to the thunder storm right before my arrival. I was surprised but the owner served me hot tea and invited me to their fire place in... More

This place makes the Bates Motel look like the Waldorf. THE most filthy, discusting, insect-infested place I have ever seen. I couldn't find them on Trip Advisor or I wouldn't have stayed here in the first place. ALL of the bad reviews are accurate, so I won't repeat them. Once we saw our room, we ran back to the front... I haven't stayed here, I have a second home in the area, but I do come for the food. I usually just get it to go, which makes sense for me especially since I haven't seen another diner here in a couple of years. I will say that the motel is in a beautiful, though remote, peaceful location, though the... More

If you like to hear only Nature sounds, far away from crowd and city noise, this is the best place. Well, rooms might be not so fancy as some people got used to, but pretty clean. As another reviewer posted, "location you can not beat", located at the end of small local road, surrounded by mountains, with creek what you... More

Thanksgiving Day 2007. We live in Park Slope, Brooklyn and we were supposed to spend the night at the Shangri La Motel in Oliverea (in the Catskills) after we ate our Thanksgiving dinner at Peekamoose restaurant. Here's the honest deal...and why we said to heck with losing our money, we had to get out of there. When we arrived to... More

The most disgusting, run down, dirty, filthy place. Rooms are tiny and very old. Vacuum never touched the floors, and toilets were never cleaned with brown lines in the bowl and used toilet paper sticking to the sides. I don't know how I missed this tripadviser website and did not see all these reviews!!!! We requested refund from the manager/owner... More

I wish we read these reviews before we stayed here. Would not recommend this to anyone. We were so excited to go to the mountains for the long weekend. When we got there, the lady in the reception did not say much of anything, asked our name, handed us a bill and went to show us our room. She was... More
