This was a super place to stay. very unusual & quaint setting.Just the right place to relax & unwind. The rooms each had their own entrance & porch in a 4 plex style thatched building(2 up,2 down). The rooms were clean & roomy.Even a day bed. I can't say enough about the meals. SUPERB. Enjoying 'high tea' or a drink... More

This is a lovely spot to unwind and really feel away from it all. The food is excellent and service attentive. The rooms are spacious, big beds, air conditioned and all very close to the beach and pool. The beach is stunning and sitting in the bar having your sundowners overlooking the turqoise seas is pretty unbeatable. The hotel feels... More

My group had just finished a week out in the serengeti on safari. We were on our way to 3 days in Zanzibar and arrived at Ngalawa Beach Village as part of a prearranged tour. My expectation was of a nice place like the Serena hotels we had stayed in and was blown away with the simple beauty and elegance... More

If you are going to Zanzibar, you have to stay at Ngalawa Beach Village. It is the perfect place to relax, unwind, swim in the pool/ocean, eat incredible food, and if you're lucky-feed the goats their afternoon snack of "cookies". The rooms are large and clean, the staff friendly and Sadru and Joanne are exceptional hosts. Visit Stone Town, buy... More

I had just completed the trip of a lifetime: a safari. The group I was with were sent to the Ngalawa Beach Village to wind down. It could not have been a better place to unwind and "chill." Sadru and Joanne were such great hosts. The staff is extraordinary. The rooms, set in 4 plexes, with thatched roofs, are so... More

Warm and generous hospitality with exquisite dining - our six-month-old gorged on fresh, specially prepared purees at every meal, loving it all, and so did we. Lovely Maasai babysitters - monkeys in the trees - and a spa with an unforgettable mint massage. An utterly relaxing experience - it will be a long time before the beauty and peace of... More

I'd just spent 3 weeks working in Dar and had the chance to spend a weekend relaxing in Zanzibar afterwards, so asked for recomendations. A friend in Dar who works in hospitaltity recomended Sadry and Joanne's resort, as the ideal place to relax, and how right they were! The resort itself is beautifully put together right on the beach, with... More

The owners are also the managers and live on site. Joanne and Sadru take immense pride in their quiet out of the way retreat. They are the epitome of hospitality and nothing is too much trouble. The site is immaculately clean, has a great pool, a wonderful pontilla, lovely rooms all with balconies that give a good view, rooms are well... Excellent standard of the intimate complex and service: comfortable room, ambient restaurant and pier-like Lily's bar, the fantastic chef and his delicious meals, tender care of animal residents and continuous but descreet presence of the remarkable and generous owners with individual approach to their guests - thank You for sweetening our stay in Zanzibar :o) (M&M from Poland)
