Storm King Lodge is a lovely facility in the beautiful mid-Hudson Valley -- near outstanding arts and cultural attractions. But not having your room serviced -- at all -- takes a lot out of the experience. So do broken doorknobs, very low water pressure and other rough edges -- especially when the price is not at all inexpensive. Finally, while... More

We stayed for a rainy weekend an even though it was pouring outside, the comfort and serenity of The Storm King Lodge made it a perfect trip. The breakfast was delicious and the house is wonderfully cozy.

My husband and I wanted to "run away" for just a night. Fate brought us here, but the beautiful setting, comfortable spacious room, gorgeous grounds, delicious food, and attentive, funny owner, Hal, will bring us back. They were kindly accommodating of our short stay and we will definitely stay longer next time. We'd love to experience the inn with a... More

This small inn is as equally charming as its host, Hal! I came with my husband for an overnight stay in a very clean, pretty, and comfortable room. In the morning breakfast offered an amazing assortment for such a small inn! Hal prepared vegetable frittata, as well as vanilla yogurt with granola and fresh fruit- and of course coffee! The inn... Very close to Storm King art center and a lovely place to stay. This was our second visit and we will definitely be back. The pool, off the guest cottage, is very inviting on a hot day and we were sad that it was cool and rainy when we were here this visit. The breakfast at the main house (with... More

Hal makes you feel like family right from the jump. His company is entertaining. Grounds are lovely. Rooms are cozy. Breakfast is plentiful and scrumptious. We truly enjoyed our one-night stay in the Pine Room.

First time to this amazing one-of-a-kind place. Just an awesome setting with all manner of aesthetics everywhere you turn.....inside and outside. The innkeepers, Hal and Gaye, were gracious and accomodating. Hal cooked one fantastic breakfast and Gaye supplied beautiful flowers that I saw her picking from her garden. Our room was charming and comfortable with an amazing array of books... More

We spent two enjoyable nights in this very welcoming accommodation. Hal, our host, satisfied my curiosity about the local history and the unusual structure -- once a barn -- which offers comfortable rooms and a great dining/living room with two story ceiling and beautiful wood all around. It is a most inviting place to have coffee (or another drink) and... More

It's like the inner left arm of the Storm King himself, which to be clear, I mean as a complement. This inn has broad appeal, appropriate as a full-time residence for Miss Havisham as well as her would-have-been great-great-great ...great-great urbanite grandchildren on vacation. It could have been an appropriate setting for a flashback scene in Fried Green Tomatoes or... More

The Storm King Lodge is truly a hidden gem! We were there in early spring to see the magnolia tree develop its flowers, absolutely spectacular! Not to mention that the property itself and its hosts are fabulous. Oh, and the breakfast part of this B and B, is over the top! Be sure to stay a few days, as each... More
