The word "average" describes this place well.. There's a decent amount of parking space and the room includes all the basics you are looking for as a passerby. It's nothing sort of fancy and it feels a bit overpriced but It's still not the worst of places stay at.

When I arrived, I was charged more than the booked price of my reservation. I had a confirmation email of my reservation, but the owner told me that "my card was declined" but "he had another room for me at a higher price." When I called my credit card company to check, they told me there were no such denied charges. I received no notice by email or phone of a cancelled reservation or a problem with the credit card from the hotel - even though the respomsibility is with them, not Orbitz (because the hotel processed this transaction, not Orbitz.) The motel manager was completely rude, unsympathetic, and unwilling to admit that he was in error in any way. I have reported this incident to the Better Business Bureau. STAY AWAY.

We booked it, blindly, by calling AARP Expedia. and requesting decent economy lodging on our route. Dumb move. Yes, the fellow at the hotel front desk was responsive and kind. But that's it. Nothing more to recommend. I think it's a dump and Scottish Inns needs to sell this place or overhaul it. We would never, ever, stay here again. And my faith in AARP Expedia referral services is irreparably damaged. .

No good, will give 1 point for mini fridge, microwave and TV. Not very much to say, not impress at all. Wish we had noticed Super 8 across the street earlier, maybe for the same price or less. I noticed it when we were leaving. For $75.00 bucks, never again. Regardless of your tiredness, don't stay there sleep in your vehicle. My daughter got stuck after the big snow storm and flights cancellation. We eventually drove her up to campus. Scottish is only 10 mins awat from Buff state and decided to stay there for a few hrs. Will not be staying the ever again.

I hate the fact that I have to pay $95 for a room at an old rundown hotel, but that's just the way it is in this area of New York. All that aside, the owners have attempted to improve things and overall the room was decent, had a fridge, microwave and a flatscreen TV that all worked fine, and it smelled orangey fresh despite being old (i,e., budget). But the reason I will never return is that it's just a sketchy area with a lot of drinking and fighting into the wee hours of the morning. Management does not seem to monitor this as it happened both nights I was in the place. I should've left after the first incident of domestic violence I witnessed in the parking lot, but I had already paid and would've lost my full amount. On my second night another argument somewhere in the hotel, and what was clearly a party with a lot of stomping above my room and people out in front of the rooms until 3:30 in the morning. I packed up and left at 4 AM. The owners can do all they want to clean the place up, but unless they do something about the riffraff here I would never come back.

A common method of visiting a major US city on a modest budget for hotel and dining is to find a hotel on the periphery of the metropolitan area, which is also easily accessible to the city's transportation system. In this way it is common to find moderately priced hotels. This was our method in our visit to the Niagara Falls, in September 2014. Our hotel was the Scottish Inn, 1346 Sheridan Drive, Kenmore NY, which is north of Buffalo, NY and south east of Niagara Falls, NY. The Positives: The Scottish Inn is located near a major intersection, Sheridan Drive and Military Road, in Kenmore, NY. Access to NFTA Metro bus lines are convenient, but for the bus service. The bus line that runs along Sheridan Drive, bus route #35, took us to an affordable and relatively clean laundromat on Sheridan Drive and Belmont Avenue, (which is in the same building as a Dunkin' Donuts restaurant), and to the door step of the upscale Wegmans' supermarket on Alberta Drive. The bus route #35 has bus stops near the hotel. The frequency service on this route is an inconvenient 1 hour! Bus route #20, to downtown Buffalo and to the Greyhound Station, is about a five-minute walk from the Scottish Inn, Kenmore. The closest bus stop is on Sheridan Drive and Elmwood Avenue. The fare is a flat $2.00 per ride without transfer privileges. For $5.00 the rider receives a day pass on all of Metro NFTA bus lines. The trip between the Sheridan Drive and Elmwood Avenue stop is about 30 minutes. The frequency of service on this route is good. From the Greyhound station, NFTA Metro bus route #40 runs between Buffalo and Niagara Falls, NY. The trip is about 1 hour. The frequency of service is about 40 minutes. The Scottish Inn, Kenmore, informed me that travel to Niagara Falls from the hotel is possible by bus route #20 to the Greyhound terminal. (From there the obvious choice of bus travel to the Niagara Falls is either a Greyhound bus or Metro NFTA bus route #40. Either way works fine.) In theory, one can conveniently get to Niagara Falls from the Scottish Inn, Kenmore by a westbound bus, on bus route #35, and a transfer to a northbound bus on bus route #40, along River Road (= Niagara Street). This travel is also reversible in going from Niagara Falls to the Scottish Inn. However, in practice, expect a long wait at the transfer point, along River Road/Niagara Street between the two routes in both directions between the Scottish Inn and Niagara Falls. You wouldn't want to try this in rainy weather or in very cold weather. Other positives: The location of the Scottish Inn from restaurants, from Wegmans' supermarket, from laundromats and so on is convenient. The hotel itself is ran by a friendly family with young children. The service was warm, friendly and responsive. Our room had a king size bed, two tables, two chairs, two night tables, dresser, an ample and clean refrigerator, microwave oven, refrigerator, coffee maker, lamps, and air conditioner. All of this at an affordable $260 for four nights. Our room was clean, as were the coffee maker, refrigerator, and bathroom. The Wi-Fi at Scottish Inn was fine. The negatives: Our room was far from the central hot water heater. Thus, a whole lot of water was wasted in order to take a short hot shower. The heating is done by central heating and was not turned on during our visit mid September. My wife was cold most of the time. Lastly, if the hotel is this affordable, just think of what kind of guests the hotel attracts. Because of the obviously local guests, we did not have a good night sleep because of the noise; and because of the guests of the Inn's guests coming and going all night long (Friday and Saturday nights); and from too loud television sets; and because of thin walls and a very creaky ceiling. We did not sleep well because of these things and because of our fear of the obviously local guests and their guests at the Scottish Inn, Kenmore. When we left the Scottish Inn, Kenmore, for Cleveland Ohio, on Monday morning, we were relieved in spite of our wonderful time at the Niagara Falls and Wegmans, in Amherst.

Not sure why, but the suburban area north of Buffalo is very difficult to find a hotel/motel without making a prior reservation - maybe Niagara Falls is keeping them full. Anyway, our usual hotel was full so we stayed here for one night. Person at reception was pleasant and helpful. Room had clean new refrigerator and microwave as well as a king bed and a sleep sofa. The rooms were clean, but not attractive and poorly maintained. The door to the bathroom did not close. Enjoyed the ability to put our food in the fridge instead of keeping it in the car overnight. My major complaint was the road noise from Sheridan Drive. Being a light sleeper, I had trouble with loud noise (? motorcycles) every 10 to 15 minutes. (It was a Saturday night, so I assume the road noise after midnight would be better Sun to Thurs.)

We had a very bad experience with the hotel. After booking our rooms well in advance, when we reached the hotel at midnight, the person at reception non-chalantly told us that one of our rooms was given to someone else. We ourselves had to book another room in neighbourhood at that time and did not get any help from Scottish Inn. That was a horrible thing espicially with family. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had a very unpleasant experience staying at this place. we had booked 6 rooms in one of the web-site like 30 days back and when we reached the hotel, the manager said that he has only 5 rooms booked and he missed to book the 6th room. He didnt even feel sorry and carelessly told all of us to adjust in 5 rooms. It was a nuisance to the whole group due to the fact that it was 11:30 PM in the night. The room was not all good. Although the room size is big, the bath tub was dirty, bed sheets were not clean. The A/C was located 10 ft above the ground. we needed a ladder to switch it ON or OFF. I recommend all of the readers not to stay in this hotel. This is a hotel with bad management.
