We have been to many Camps in South Luangwa Valley and would rate Thornicroft as one of the most pleasant to stay in. The Staff were all very friendly and informative and we saw many Animals and a wide selection of Birds with our excellent Game Guide/ Driver. If we had a complaint, which we do not, it would be... We booked our safari through Land & Lakes, and were told this was "luxurious accommodation". It is far from that, and should definitely be advertised as standard. When we asked the manager of Thornicroft about the wording of "luxurious" she even said it was only "standard". If we knew we were going to a standard lodge then we would have... More

Dear Sir I am sorry it seems you got the wrong impression of the lodge from one of our agents. We have discussed this with the agent and they have changed the wording on their package. We will certainly take your other comments on board. As a new lodge we are constantly looking at new ways to improve. At Thornicroft... More

We had spent 5 weeks in Malawiworking on a number of different projects with a friend who lives out here permentaly and to end our trip we decided we wanted to go on a Safari, we thought about going to one in Malawi but decided on Zambia due to seeing more of the big 5, and we did not regret... This place was delightful and we have nothing negative to say about it. The staff was helpful, our guide was brilliant and the food/accommodations were great. The 8-9 hours of safari each day in South Luangwa were truly the best time we have ever had. You could drive hours without seeing any other people, yet seeing every animal you dreamed... More

Recently my husband and sister and brotherin law spent three nights at this beautifully appointed lodge situated over the river on the edge of the S.L. National park. Our chalet was comfortable and clean but not luxurious. The brunches were delicious, although the dinners were not to the same standard, suprisingly. The highlight of our trip was our visits to... - This is a nice place with very personable staff. We booked this lodge with a tour from Land & Lake safaris in Lilongwe as a "luxury" lodge which is probably a slight overstatement as some of the fixtures and fitting are a little tired. The chalets only have a small fan (which is not overhead) and a canvas roof... More

We are sorry you did not fully enjoy your time at our lodge. We always strive to provide our safari-loving guests with a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere in a wild environment that is inevitably prone to a few surprises. The weather in September has been extremely challenging, causing us numerous problems including maintaining the pool and overheating our tented chalets.... More

I stayed for 5 days in September this year. Really fantastic stay, food was superb, I could barely move the amount we were fed! Gorgeous pool to relax by during the day. The drives were great, our guide Godphrey ensured that we were the first in the park most days to avoid the other cars. Saw wild dogs, lions galore... More

Having visited the Serengeti, NgoroGoro,Okovango, Masai Mara etc i thought they would be hard acts to follow, however casting around for a new location to visit we decided on the South Luangwa, i was a bit dubious at first as this area doesnt seem to be as well known as other mainstream destinations but we decided to give it a...
