I live in Cape Town, South Africa and this was my first trip to Namibia. It was such a wonderful experience hoping from one lodge to another each day with 4 or 5 hour drives each day. The drives however did not feel long because i was so intrigued by my surrounding and the difference in each day that the... More

This was our first experience in the desert in Namibia after a long journey from Windhoek. Marvellous experience with nice games drives and not so far from Sossusvlei where you can see the huge dunes of sand. The swimming pools are excellent (2) the diner is outstanding, you can also sit outside what makes the difference in the evening with... More

This is a Gondwana lodge and is very similar in style and substance to all their other lodges in Namibia. It's close enough to Sesriem to make it worthwhile staying here. Rooms are plain but nice - no TV and no real luxuries which for the price is a little disappointing. There are 2 nice pools here but not that... More

Thank you very much for your straight-forward feedback raising several issues, which we would like to clarify. Namib Desert Lodge has a similar standard of facilities and service as the other Gondwana lodges (3 to 4 star), but is unique in style and location. / Luxury - Namib Desert Lodge is regarded as 3 star and the rate is accordingly.... We stayed at this well kept lodge for 4 days. It's ideally located for various excursions. We loved the surrounding area with the dunes where you can even go for a walk. There was a very nice buffet for dinner as well as for breakfast. Food was excellent. The staff was very friendly. We had a bungalow at the edge... More

I stayed here for 2 nights and was impressed right away by this lodge. The location is beautiful, the rooms are sparsely but sufficiently furnished and clean. Both outdoors pools are small but clean and the garden is full of local plants with name tags on them, which is nice so you're sure of what you're looking at... :) The... More

Stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Staff were more than helpful and friendly. The evening buffet was very good indeed as was breakfast. We were prepared for cold nights at this time of year - bring thermals,( but for us it was not as cold as we thought as the thatched cabin was very cosy.) Did the... More

Nice lodge, but not the small and cosy type to house individual tourists, but a large lodge which houses bus tourists. However, the lodge is very good, decent food and great houses. Good starting point for a early morning tour to Sossusvlei.

The Namib Desert Lodge is well located to visit the dunes and all the nice area. The rooms are in bungallows for two or four rooms and are reasonable equiped. The unique negative point it is not prepared for the cold nights in winter. All the other things including the restaurant were fine.

We stayed at this lodge for 2 nights for the purpose of visiting Sossusvlei. The rooms are spacious, neat and clean with lovely patios to bird watch and dune watch. There are 2 pools to entertain the children and the buffet is above average. The staff are so willing to please - from freeaing water bottles overnight to heating milk... More

We stayed in the lodge for 2 nights and I must say that I really enjoyed it. It is close to the Sossusvlei gate (about 1 hour - do not forget it will take you another 45 minutes to reach the Sossusvlei from the gate). The lodge has a couple of bungalows which are simple but clean. Only in the... More
