Mana pools has got to be one of the most beautiful places in the works. We visited Ruckomechi very early in the season and were in fact the only guests for the 4 nights we were there. Loved Kevin and Mathew and Tendai, in fact all of the crew. Found the manageress not so friendly. Would have loved to have... More

We were hesitant to visit Zimbabwe given the political turmoil and a spate of negative press in recent years. Having spent our honeymoon in Kenya/Tanzania we were 'hooked' on safari and desperately wanted to come back and see what else africa has to offer. Seeing wildlife in its natural setting was our number one priority and we were hoping to... More

The camp has beautiful views and our tent was comfortable. It was great to canoe on the Zambizi. Animal highlights including seeing a group of elephants swim across the river. The staff was great. The only thing I would note is that if you're looking for a lot of cat game, you'll have to visit a different camp to see... More

The service is second to none. Well appointed tentsin a really open camp, excellent home style food .The setting on the river is stunning with views of the mountains During the drives we had coffee stops and homemade cookies, sundowners and canapes. One evening after a canoe trip we came "ashore" to a campfire, candles and sunset drinks on the banks of the... From the moment you arrive, this place literally blows you away. The camp is perfectly set up, with a very well stocked library, covered tent with comfy chairs for afternoon drinks. There is a lovely pool with with sun loungers and a hammock chair for lounging in after game drives. Dinner is held at the large table looking out onto... More

The tents were more beautiful than a five star hotel. Our guide, Kevin was knowledgeable and entertaining...which is good when you are going to spend so many hours in close quarters together! Food was delicious and more than plentiful and the hosts made sure that your every need was met!

Our family of four stayed four days at Ruckomechi Camp as part of our three week south africa trip in early August 2011. Everyone rated this stay as the highlight of our trip. The density of game was incredible. We would see two our three species within five minutes of each game drive and nearly every drive gave us dozens... More

Having grown up in Zim, I am sad to say that I had never been to Mana Pools. I am so happy that I finally made it there.... and in style. Everything from our arrival via bush plane - thanks Solenta Aviation - to our departure was so thoughtful and personalized. I am not a camping person - and this... More

We stayed four nights at Ruckomechi Camp in November 2010 as part of a two week trip to Zimbabwe, booked through Imagine Africa based in London. We found Ruckomechi camp superb; one of the best places we’ve visited in 12 years of African travel. Everything about the camp was first class and the scenery and wildlife were fabulous. We saw... This was the first of four camps we stayed at in Africa (2 in Zimbabwe). Lovely accommodations and food that was amazingly good for being in the bush. Everything was very clean and the camp staff was efficient, warm and friendly. We loved the setting on the Zambezi River with the hippo serenades at night. Our resident elephant peeked in... More
