We were welcomed by an unprofessional and cold staff. The air-conditioning didn't work and they didn't manage to fix it the first night. The second night the air conditioning was very noisy. The room decorations are dreadful; the bathrooms are old, with no water pressure and no hot water. The view is magnificent but it is located far from town... More

This hotel is pretty small and is very simple. No frills, no luxury. Quite basic at times. Yet, the rooms are very nice (especially the 2 upstairs: ask for one of them!) and all have a sea view. Inside, they have very romantic decoration. The restaurant has also a terrifc view over the sea and it is nice to breath... More

We’re an Italian Family composed by 2 adults and one 10 years old girl. We spent in August 5 nights in Hotel L’Ocean and we reported a very good experience. The hotel is just in front of the ocean on a Hill on a quite location. All rooms are in front of the sea and they are spacious and clean... More

We stayed in L’Ocean for three nights in April/May from where we explored the island by bike. The main reason for choosing the hotel were the reviews posted on tripadvisor which were generally very positive. We had a slightly different experience. The staff appeared to be very cold and disinterested and this was noticed straight at our arrival. During our... More

The hotel is in the quiet northern end of the island, on top of a hill before the road bends. We stayed in room 1, the view from the balcony wasn't too bad as we still had the full view of the sunrise and a bit of sunset. I think this was the best room if you couldn't get the... More

Perched on the hill at the northern tip of La Digue, the hotel location is great. Jude was always helpful, with arranging transfers and a wonderful 1/2 day snorkel trip to Coco and Felicitie islands that was great value. The rooms are not spacious, and every wall is covered in decorations made from shells, corals or palm barks. Its a... More

We got the top floor rooms at L'Ocean which most travelers will agree are the best. The view from the rooms is picture perfect. L'Ocean makes you smile right from the word go when Jude gives you a low down on the Hotel and its facilities. There are possibly more luxurious options in La Digue but L'Ocean is warm and... More

It was our first time on La Digue and we were happy to have chosen the best hotel immaginable there: • Location is great, on the hillside of a quiet corner of the island, with great views of the ocean • Rooms are romantic, lovingly decorated with natural materials (shells, wall decorations made of local leaves and fibres) and even... Stayed at L'Ocean for 7 nights and was impressed with both it and the island in general. Great location, good food, great service, friendly staff. We booked half board and were served with excellent three course meals and two outstanding buffets. Breakfast was a feast with a selection of fruit, toast and eggs (cooked any way you wanted) and a... More
