We had 2 rooms and were billed for 3. I saw this when I got my credit card statement, and contacted both my credit card company, and the hotel. I eventually got through to some manager who said there was fraud on my account. He kept changing his story when I asked why there was no verification of guest identity.... More

It was warm out, and the Hallways were just as warm. Toilet would not flush, at all. Had to use our neighbors, thank god they were our friends! Was Not able to use the whirlpool tub cuz a knob was missing. No remote for tv. Coffee pot, but no coffee or cups or condiments for the Coffee Pot. Called front... More

This is not even a good, basic hotel. I had to rent 2 rooms since no double beds were available & the AC did not work in one of the rooms. The bathroom in one of the rooms smelled like dried pee and the vanity was filthy. The rooms were dirty: Hair everywhere, dust, and musty smelling. The rooms were... More

My room was immaculately clean (a first floor smoking room), everything in the room worked as it should, and I found the whole hotel to be in relatively good shape. All rooms here have the classic Howard Johnson sliding glass doors (with working double locks and security bar) to private balconies which... More

I stayed here last week with my family for 6 nights. We were looking for a hotel from which we could both have days at the beach as well as day trips to New York City. The location is great - just along the 495 and very easy to get to. We went to the Fire Island beaches (about a... More

Stayed at the Howard Johnsons in Commack for five nights. Yes as other reviewers have noted it's old and kinda run down (I would have loved to see what this place looked like in it's hey-day), but if you are looking for a decent motel with a friendly staff, quiet room, comfortable bed & a free breakfast at a budget...
