I loved this place! The lobby comfortably furnished with rustic furniture and accessories looks over a fabulous view of a lake, mountains and the Hudson river. My room was superb both beautifully furnished and meticulously cared for. The clerks were all friendly and helpful. There is no restaurant but the continental breakfast was good. From the property I accessed a... More

We didn't stay here, just attended a wedding, so my comments are confined to the catering. The best part: the setting for the ceremony--on a stone patio surrounded by nature and overlooking the lake. Throw in a beautiful May day, and you have a "Wow"! Plenty of parking, but walking to the car was an obstacle because it was pitch... More

This is a great hotel. super clean, cozy and comfortable. The area is beautiful and perfect for hiking. The restaurant is good but if you going to have dinner over there make sure to make a reservation first. The breakfast is fresh fruit, cinnamon roll, cupcakes, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The services is friendly and decent. User submitted photo

We stayed for one night on our way to NYC. It is somewhat isolated but very cozy. Loved the decor with the bear/nature theme. The room was very clean and well appointed. The whole lodge seems to have been renovated and there is lots of attention to detail (lighting fixtures, furniture). I was also impressed that they try to be... More

We needed a place to stay that was fairly near the Woodbury Commons outlet Stores. We booked on one of those websites where you only find out where you stay after you book. We got a sweet deal and were not disappointed even if we had paid full price. It's a very peaceful place (we saw 3 dear walk by... More

This place was nice with real clean and remodeled rooms but this lodge is basically a campers delight. The views are great and the area is perfect for hiking and outdoor activities. Starting from the ride into the facility to the hotel lobby, the decor speaks for what you are about to embark on.Its a hunting lodge in the mountains with... More

My first thoughts before arriving was that it was in the middle of nowhere and it was a lodge so I wasn't expecting much. When we arrived, even though it looked small, it did the job. It was immaculate. The whole room seemed new and the sink inside was really great. The bathroom was clean the noise level was low.... More

After having dinner in New Paltz, I fired up Hotwire to see what we could find, and we were pleased to see a three-star costing less than the two-star Econo-Lodge/Super-8-type places right down the block. So we booked it for a song, and arrived at the Overlook Lodge forty minutes later. The gentleman who checked us in was very pleasant,... More

My girlfriend and I are locals but we decided it would be fun to spend a day hiking at Bear Mountain and then stay at the Overlook Lodge, just for the heck of it. It's a great location, and the amenities are actually very nice for the money. Comfortable beds, nice bathrooms with good toiletries, refrigerator, coffee maker, alarm clock... More

I was a bit worried given the mixed reviews, but had a good experience. Stayed for the weekend. When I made my reservations (a month earlier) only a double was available, I asked to have a king if one became available. I had forgotten about the request, but the staff hadn’t and had changed the room. The room was very... More
