After the shikaras of Kashmir, the pinasse of Mali and the one-leg rowing fishermen's boats on the Inle Lake of the Shane State of Myanmar, it was our turn to experience the mokoro of the Okavango Delta (a mokoro is a small boat carved our of the trunk of the "sausage tree" and propulsed by the power of the boatman... This was the highlight of our African Experience. Camp Okavango was an extrordinary place in the middle of nowhere but with all the luxuries and comfort of a 5 star hotel. The staff were such fun to be with and very proffessional in what they do. We are a couple in our late sixties and 70's and enjoyed the tranquility... More

We have just returned from a fantastic 3 night stay at delta camp. It is a stunning camp offering an authentic Okavango Delta experience. The rooms are great, the food tasty and substantial and the staff are warm and hospitable. The guides are extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. Delta camp is truly the place to stay if you are looking for... More

I loved my stay at Delta Camp. The welcome at the airstrip, the rides in the mokoro, the tree house, the walking safaries, Moremi National , our expert guide and hosts, the delicious food, the starry night sky, the elephants around the camp, the sunrises and the sunsets...Everything during my time there was extraordinary ! The place is incredibly beautiful... More

We undertook a very last minute trip to the delta in November 2012. Delta Air flew us from Maun to the airstrip at Oddballs Camp and upon landing were received by 3 of the Delta Camp staff. We were then taken to Delta Camp by mokoro. We spent two nights at the camp in exceptional lodging. The staff catered for... More

Delta Camp is an unforgettable way to go on safari. There are no motor boats, no game vehicles. Just authentic dug out mokoros, that slide silently between the reeds of the Okavango Delta (others use fibreglass). And walking quietly on foot, single file, wading barefoot through shallow water at times, examining spoor and scat, listening intently for cracking branches or... More

We ended our Okavango experience with four nights here in September '10. We could not have been happier. We had two bull elephants jousting with 20 metres of our waterside suite, excellent food and wine, great staff and the wonderful experience of mokoro trips to islands with long walks, game viewing up close and watching elephants swim the river. One... More

Have stayed here twice and of the five different camps I've visited, this is my favorite. It has the most knowledgeable and friendliest staff, coolest accomodation and absolutely wonderful views from the bar/restaurant. Especially if you're a birder, this is a must. The staff knows were Pel's Fishing Owls are, Slaty Egrets fly Past and you don't need to leave... More

This was our first stop on our safari trip. It was absolutely beautiful. The dug-out micuro trips are extremely relaxing, and authentic (some lodges use plexiglass), the guides super enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and fun. The guides (as a family of 4, we had 2 guides) had time to give detailed answers to all of our questions and tell stories about all... More

Arrived at Delta camp via a little cessna from Maun on the sand/mud strip runway and transfered to camp via mokoro canoe gliding along the crystal clear waters of the delta, dodging hippos along the way, a slightly daunting experience to say the least! However you get used to it. The main lodge is in a stunning setting, one of... More
