It's almost impossible to pull off the combination of being left alone yet being having your host right there when you need them.Richard and casa gallina pull this off with apparent ease.the cassitas are immaculate and funky, showcasing local art in an understated way.casa gallina is quiet and restful but every thing in Taos including the ski hill is an easy... Richard and Casa Gallina are an extremely memorable experience. I have travelled around the world and stayed in all different types of places. Richard has created the most incredibly special place in one of the more tranquil locations of the world. It was exactly what I needed. There was no lack of detail or attention anywhere or with anything. My... More

Casa Gallina had been highly recommended by a friend but when we arrived the beautiful accommodations exceeded our expectations. Everything about the place had the feel of comfort, beauty and peace. One of the other reviews used the word "magical" and I think the says it all. Richard has provided all the little touches that make it special. The wine... More

Richard, the innkeeper, should write a book on how to run a magical B&B. Having stayed in quite a few B & B's, I must say this one is my favorite. From the note on the door to the "girls" (chickens) we truly enjoyed every minute there. The artisan decor is whimsical and every little detail was just perfect. If... More

I just returned from my fifth visit to beautiful, Casa Gallina. It doesn't seem possible, but it just keeps getting better and better. The problem is, it is so wonderful that you never want to leave! Richard has created a magical place that stays forever in your heart, mind and soul. Whether you are traveling solo, as a family or... More

We arrived at Casa Gallina worn and frazzled from too much work and stress. After 3 nights in our beautiful and relaxing casita we were refreshed and serene. Our host , Richard, truly went out of his way to make us feel welcome and pampered. We arrived to wine and cheese and crackers and Richard kept us supplied in eggs... More

The units at Casa Gallina are unique and wonderful, but what truly makes it a great experience are the efforts of the owner, Richard Spera. Richard goes "above and beyond the call of duty" to make his guests feel at home and ensure that their stay is a memorable one. My wife loved the furnishings and details of Barred Rock.... More

Casa de Gallina was recommended by a dear friend who has stayed there several times and raved as much about Richard Spera, its visionary owner, as the place itself. There is no way to "overcompliment" either. Without being cloying or intrusive, Richard welcomes you into what feels like home -- lovely, cozy, individual casitas, each unique, and each beautiful, each... More

This is not so much a review as a testament of my gratitude for the wonderful weekend we spent at Casa Gallina. Walking through the front door (through a beautiful courtyard...with a hammock!), the kitchen and dining area took our breath away. This room offered a metaphor for the experience of the whole weekend: it was inviting, comfortable, beautiful, unexpected,... More

Casa Gallina is a magical and unforgettable place. We stayed in El Gallo Grande for four nights and fell in love with the place. The house is inspired and inspiring. It is peaceful and welcoming - furnished and decorated in great taste. The wood floors and carved wooden furniture lend the space a natural simplicity and also a rich warmth.... More
