I’m afraid the Taos Inn is resting on its historic laurels. When you hit the $200+/night threshold you have certain expectations that the Taos Inn just doesn’t meet: Cheap bedding, cheap bathroom fixtures (including leaking toilet), old TV (an RCA for you history buffs…). Not a lot of choices if you want to be right in the center of town, so I guess for that purpose, it works but that's about it. The rooms have been updated but still maintain that rustic and cozy feeling, with two foot thick adobe walls, latilla ceilings, fireplaces, and courtyards. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Made for a very relaxing two night getaway. Just a short walk from the Plaza.
