We're coming to the end of our afternoon game drive. Jacques the ranger asks the six of us in the Land Cruiser to close our eyes and imagine what the setting truly means to us all, telling us only to open our eyes when he's driven on another hundred yards. Is it another sunset viewpoint? More than that - it's... More

We stayed in Bayethe Tented Lodge at Shamwari in April 2012. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone. There was just me and my boyfriend on all of our four game drives and our ranger, Ryan, was knowledgeable and friendly. At Shamwari, guests enjoy two game drives a day – one starting about 6am and one... More

Our family stayed at the Riverdene Lodge for 4 days in April 2012, having already been on safari in Tanzania and Zambia I was dubious that Shamwari could offer a true safari experience. How wrong was I - we had the most amazing 4 days with our guide Ntobeko who demonstarted the commitment to conservation that Shamwari is making. The... More

We, folks, children and partners stayed at Shamwari Sirili lodge for 3 nights in April 2012. We had a suite and two rooms all overlooking the river and plain. The lodge has a modern African feel to it, it's not like camps in deepest darkest Africa, bit still brilliant in a different way. The lodge lived up to it's 5... More

We stayed at Sarili Lodge which is a small, intimate lodge with only 5 rooms/suites. The accomodation is excellent and the service was first class. A la carte meals are served for breakfast and dinner (so many choices with menu changed every day). Lunch is available but we were too full to enjoy this before the afternoon tea. Philip was... More

I don't know where to begin. Our stay was flawless. We enjoyed absolute luxury in between two game drives a day during which we saw every animal on our list and then some. Our ranger Ntobeke was friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, fun and just wowed us. The food was excellent, served al fresco in lovely settings as weather permitted. We stayed... More

A big congratulations to the Shamwari volunteer program and the staff that run this outstanding facility. There is not a moment left to chance, not a moment that won't be remembered, while delivering an experience of a life time to all those who pass through the program. From the minute you arrive to the minute you leave there is an... More

This is the kind of camping I like, or should I say glamping! The tented lodge was furnished with everything you’d need and what you’d expect for the prices paid. Our lodge was a short walk from the reception area, the restaurant/bar area was a little further on with a view over a watering hole. After we had checked in... More

The 'wow' factor was apparent from the moment we drove down the rutted road into Bayethe and spotted the giraffe heads above the trees to the moment we entered the 'tent' our home for the next five nights! Luxurious doesn't really do it justice, it was like no tent I had ever seen. A great deal of thought was apparent,... More
