Thank you Louw and your team for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The setting with its view of the watering hole from camp, the welcome, friendly staff, dinner around the camp fire, great drives on which we saw more than just all of the Big 5..... A+ on all of these. We had the privilege of watching a Nyala family right... More

We already made another booking, that says it all! Thanks to Louw Booysen and his staff we had an amazing weekend and we also met wonderful people. Please leave your makeup at home and enjoy nature! Remember this is Africa and the sun is harsh even in June, remember a hat and sunscreen. There is enough time to relax, so... More

Arriving at an unfenced bush camp is not merely arriving at your hotel accommodation. We were met by the manager of Tangala Safari Lodge, Louw Booysen. We checked in and the do's and don'ts were explained to us. Don't walk around after dark, remember to close the door to your room, the beating of drums will invite you to dinner... More

We HOPE that the fact that quality of sleep only rated a 4, was because of the lions who are so active at night at the moment, and not for any other reason! Thanks for the lovely feedback and we are certainly looking forward to welcoming you back again, too. Keep in touch on our Facebook page and if you... More

We were fortunate to spend 2 nights at Tangala for our 21st wedding anniversary. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean with no unnecessary frills often found at upmarket bush establishments which are nice, but unnecessary. The staff are welcoming and friendly, especially our ranger Thomas. I have to say, that Thomas provided us with the best game drives we... More

The stay we had here was outstanding. It really confounds me to see that this camp is eleven out of eleven in thorneybush according to trip advisor. Because of the 'low' rating the camp did not even come up on our radar screen. Very unfortunate. We initially opted for one of the top three camps in the area according to... More

Tangala was amazing! The fact that they do not have electricity there makes a stay there like going back in time. The oil lamps and tiki torches give the lodge such a fantastic feel at night. There are only five guest cabins, so the lodge always feels intimate. We were there for five days, and it wasn't enought. The game... More

To go on an African safari with no electricity and only kerosene lamps, to get away from computers and telephones for our 3 days was a dream come true.
