Had the pleasure of four nights at Southern Camp in May - wonderful lodge experience with great food, but what really made the trip was of course the safari and we weren't disappointed! Over the course of our stay we saw the big five, cheetahs and many other smaller creatures and learnt so much from Mike and our tracker, who... More

Everything about Kapama Southern Camp was first class, from the pick-up at the airport to the drop-off 4 days later. During our stay we had 8 x 3 hour game drives, each one an adventure in its own right! Special commendations to Mike our Ranger and Paddy our Tracker, and to the Chef(s) who provided such amazing food throughout. Well... More

We stayed for two nights at Southern Camp that we used as a base to visit Kruger National Park. A warm welcome was extended to us on arrival and although the amenities of the lodge were offered to us, we spent the full day in Kruger National Park. The rooms were spacious and clean, but there were a couple of... More

We stayed 4 nights and had a fantastic overall experience. The location is perfect and only a short drive from the airport. The lodge is small so even when full there'll be no more than about 45-50 guests. The newer rooms are wonderfully furnished and spacious with some of the older smaller rooms comfortable but in need of some work... More

The rooms and amenities were great. It's a new lodge, so they had some issues like not having working phones in my and my friend's room. Not a huge deal, but for the first afternoon of our trip, our toilet wasn't flushing, so that was a bit annoying. Again, I brushed this aside. The food was decent overall, but not... More

We are a couple from Brazil and we did book this hotel because they classify themselves as a 5 stars hotel. In my opinion a 5 stars has to have just on thing. An outstanding service. We are here right now while i am writting this review and today we had some bad experiences with the service they offer. Lets start... More

A wonderful place, would definitely recommend it. The place is quite small, which makes it relaxing and personal, and all of the staff where really friendly and helpful. We stayed in a suit, and it had everything you can wish for, we are quite picky when it comes to hotels, but this place is really top notch. Your ranger will... More

If you want a quieter, more personalized experience at Kapama - skip the River Lodge and stay at Southern Camp. Max guests are 35 people at any time and while we were there it ranged from 9 - 15 guests. The manager and staff are lovely, friendly, and so helpful and the rangers (we had head ranger Mike) are extremely... More

This was the first place in Krugar we stayed during our month in South Africa. The staff are really nice especially Mike our bush walk guide. Our room was very nice and the grounds were beautiful. They even have a resident porcupine named Elvis that comes around for some tidbits of food during dinner. Food was very good as well.

This is quite a basic lodge but is set in lovely location and the simplicity of the structures is charming. Lodge could do with some maintenance around swimming pool which was not prepared for swimming. The open air brai (BBQ) was great with a new resident porcupine Elvis omnipresent! The lodge has a wonderful viewing platform with two regular visiting... More
