Just got back from three wonderful days at Sausage Tree. Excellent hosts, staff and food. Intimate and personal with max 8 guests. Wonderful nights around the camp fire and in the luxury tents surounded by the calls of the bush. Exciting game drives with co-owner James (fluent in French) seeing Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, and a first for me in 7yrs... More

I’m travelling for 12 years with the sausage tree owner’s safari company (Imagine Africa safaris) to SA (tiger fishing), Namibia, Mozambique (diving and deep sea fishing), Zambia and Botswana. I stayed for the first time at the lodge during Easter 2012. Except that the view is awesome everywhere on their concession (Drakensberge in the distance) and no fences between Balule... More

Having recently changed ownership, Sausage Tree is now managed by a brother and sister team who have between them over 15 years experience working in the tourism industry in Hoedspruit. Sonya and Richard are fantastic hosts and will share with you the best that South African safari's can offer. Together with their tracker Shedrick, and their in-house cook Orlando, this... More

We had a great time at sausage Tree and were very well taken care of by James and Sonya. We really felt welcome and the atmosphere was very pleasant, a great mix of home and quality hotel. We enjoyed every minutes. We loved the location, the set up of the camp, the tents, the secluded and personal atmosphere. The sounds... More

This is a great safari camp with stunning views, delicious meals, very friendly and accommodating staff and comfortable luxury tents in a beautiful environment. It has only 4 luxury tents accommodating 2 people each and therefore makes it a very personal experience. The food is fresh, home-baked and deliciously cooked and the chef changed the menu for us in order... More

I stayed a weekend at the sausage tree lodge and took part on two game drives with the wonderful guides. The staff were warm and inviting, and as a vegetarian I was exceptionally well catered for. The chef was very talented. I saw 4 out of the big 5 as well as a honey badger, which is a rarity in... More

My husband and I spend a night at the sausage Tree Safari camp and were so impressed by the magic view from the deck at our arrival. Our hosts made us part of the family and we appreciated the friendly atmosphere they created. The tents are very cosy and clean with nice linen and a very comfortable bed. We were... More

I paricipated in a photography workshop last July, and this camp was the location selected for the workshop. I flew to the Hoedspruit airport, and was picked up by Sean Pattrick, the photo instructor. I understand, that the camp will also make arrangements to collect you and take you back for a reasonable fee. This is an all-inclusive camp, regarding... More

Clean, kindless, professional. I will go back there next year:) You have a guide who can organize for you bush drive, there is a lot things to see. It is better to go there from Nelspruit airport than fron Johannesburg airport, too long trip specially after 10 hours of planes ... And the food is excellent. More
