We had come across the Casitas web site four years ago and finally made it in March. There were no surprises, as the casitas were just as described and depicted on their web pages. We stayed in Casita de los Pajaros and were quite comfortable and very satisfied. The casita lacked NOTHING. The kitchen was very well supplied, the refrigerator... More

This place is a real treat. I won't go into amenities detail because the other reviews do it quite nicely. My husband and I stayed one night and we wish we could have stayed longer. We were excited about being able to see all the stars at night and that was the highlight of our stay. The starry sky is... More

My husband and I stayed here only one night on a trip through New Mexico and it was our very best stay, Next time, I would plan better so we could be there for at least a few days. Very well appointed with a full kitchen, and an outside grill option, these small casas perch on a cliff above the... More

We stayed here for three nights as part of a three week stay in the States. We thought it would be nice to just have a couple of days relaxing and regrouping in the middle of that time and thought that CDG looked like a good option. Well, we were right! Situated some way from Silver City, this is not... More

My wife and I stayed at the Casitas for 5 nights in early October with the thought that it would be enjoyable to go someplace different, off the beaten path and combine the trip with a bit of rock hunting. The Casitas certainly fit the bill on all counts. Our journey began in Houston. To maximize the time we had... More

This ranked up there with one of those great moments of serendipity for me. I was in the area to go backpacking solo to the Turkey Creek Hot Spring, and needed a place to stay. I chose Casitas de Gila merely because it was the closest to the trail, and it seemed nice on trip advisor, if a little bit... More

They say that "getting there is half the fun." After a bumpy, twisty bone shaking multi-mile drive over unpaved roads to get to the Casitas de Gila, one is full of the exhilarating feeling that you are truly at the end of the trail-the last subway stop-that you are perched on the outermost membrane of civilization and that all that... We wanted a place where we could look for rocks. This was SO much more. It is off the beaten path, so if you don't want to be isolated, this is not the place. We drove in late at night so did not really get a feel for where we were other than it took a while to get there... More

In a beautiful setting, these adobe houses are well and tastefully equipped, and look across a valley to hills and mountains beyond. We breakfasted and dined outside, visited by hummingbirds and by the host's two lazy horses during lunchtime, letting the twilight deepen to an unblemished dark, pierced by bright stars, at dinner time. What could taste better than a... More

Beautifully remote setting with paths to wander and birds to watch. The Casita had everything from games an books to a kitchen ready for all your cooking needs. Very relaxing and a great place revive. My only advice would be to bring your own breakfast foods, in our Casita most things were stale, but otherwise I would highly recommend a... More

Oh my! Why didn't you mention whatever it was that was stale to us before you checked out so we could replace it! I know it could not have been the pumpkin bread because it was just baked. The english muffins and bagels are stored in the freezer. We check the dates on the cereal boxes all the time to... More
