We stayed at Saxe-Coburg Lodge for just on night to break our journey on the way to Knysna. We had a lovely room at the end of a wonderful garden with all the home comforts you could wish for. The pool was lovely and warm (maybe the fact it was 36 degrees whilst we were there helped!) and relaxing in... More

Arrived at Saxe Coburg Lodge after a wonderful drive over the Swartburg Pass. Comfortable accommodation in a lovely garden - we were very glad of the air conditioning as the temperature was 41C. Prince Albert is a really nice little spot with several craft shops and restaurants and well worth an overnight stop. More

Lovingly restored and extended, the Saxe-Coburg oozes Victorian character & charm. We stayed in one one of the garden cottages and very much enjoyed sitting on our verandah overlooking the well kept lawns & beautiful garden. A refreshing dip in the pool was a real treat, too. Dick & Regina are superb hosts, welcoming, friendly & with an encylopaedic knowledge... More

My wife and I unexpectedly turned up recently in Prince Albert on a motorcycle ride of the West Cape. The owners Dick & Regina were very nice is ensuring that we had a great place to park the bike....just the start of an excellent one-night stay! We booked a lovely suite in the garden, got unpacked, and with Dick's advice... More

This is an excellent B&B that is well run and set in a beautiful garden complete with swimming pool. My wife and I stayed recently and found our hostess, Ann, to be very welcoming and pleasant company. The rooms were spotless, with period furnishings and comfortable bedding. Satellite TV was an an unexpected bonus to keep up to date on... More

Overnight trip from Paarl along the stunning Route 62 (it really IS the Best Road trip in SA!!) to quaint Prince Albert. Didn't book accommodation as knew we would find somewhere. And what a find it was! Knocked on the door and a refined lady answered. And said yes, that they had a Pool Suite available. Had a look and... More

My friends and I stayed at this B&B while traveling from Capetown to Port Elizabeth. The cottages were beautifully decorated, clearly done with an eye for detail. Secluded with a private garden area, it is set back from the main street. We felt like we could unwind at home! The proprietors were friendly and knowledgeable, recommending what turned out to... This really is the jewel in the crown of the Karoo. Exceptionally warm and welcoming hosts, a beautful garden with shady trees where you can wile away the hours, reading, or swimming in their magnificant pool, the rooms are of a very high standard with a comfortable stoep outside. It was the best find of our holiday and we plan... More

We spent the most enjoyable 4 night stay at The Saxe-Coburg Lodge in March. It was our second stay here and we think it is one of the best guest houses that we stay at in South Africa. We stayed in the Victoria Room which has a very comfortable 4 poster bed and a lovely stoep to sit and enjoy... More
