Great location, with fantastic restaurants just a short walk away, does lack that attention to detail/ personal touch, but the staff are very helpful and friendly.

We have stayed at Le Ballon Rouge on a number of occasions and love going there. The room are large, spotlessly clean and David and Jenny always make us feel special. We've tried staying in a few other places in Franschoek and always return to Le Ballon Rouge. The courtyard and pool area is delightfully charming. It is a wonderful...

Accommodation in the wine country around Franschoek can be pricey, but if you are looking for , clean, comfortable, quiet accommodation as a base for day trips you won't go wrong staying here. It's not luxurious by any means, but can't be beat for the price. We stayed here as a group celebrating our 50th high school class reunion.

Warm and nice welcome. Centrally located victorian guest house. Lots of restaurants and shops/super market in short walking distance. Cosy rooms with spacious bath. Breakfast with supplements on order. Free WLAN available in public areas. We enjoyed our stay and returned for one night on our way back to Cape Town.
This is a moderate sized guest house, just of the main street. Many restaurants within walking distance.
The rooms are olde worlde, high ceilings, ensuite bathroom, and antique furnishings. Very welcoming.
The staff are very friendly, but there's no reception after 18h hours.
Small breakfast buffet, but with a choice of full English or a filled omelette in addition (but...

After traveling for 27 hours to get to South Africa from Los Angeles, we were met at the airport by David, one-half of the friendly management team -- along with his wife, Jenny -- of Le Ballon Rouge. David and Jenny made us feel instantly at home, offering tips for local restaurants and attractions. David later gave us a personal...

Le Ballon Rouge is located a block back from the High Street so it is quiet but all Franschhoek bars, restaurants and attractions are easily accessible.
Our room was huge with four poster bed and a separate seating area. It was clean, well maintained and very tastefully decorated and furnished.
The rate was very reasonable for the standard of accommodation...
