We stayed at Montusi for three nights at the end of April 2012 and we found the property quite beautiful and the views were spectacular. The lawns and gardens were manicured and the outside dining verandah was a very pleasant spot to relax over an early morning coffee or a late lunch. The cabins were spacious and immaculately clean with... More

Had a great time here for 4 nights. Food was very nice, the staff were very friendly and accommodation was great. We particularly enjoyed the horse riding around the local area. We are both beginners but managed to canter around by the end of out 2 h session.

It was with some difficulty that we searched for a romantic and quiet place to celebrate our 25th anniversary in the Berg. We wanted something special and did not mind paying a bit more for something a little more exclusive were noise and interruptions would be kept to a minimum. Montusi Lodge certainly delivered as we had a most enjoyable... More

We were here for three days and liked it very much. It is a wonderful location with nice views and an air of tranquility that helps you relax from the very start of your stay. The cabins are very nicely decorated, have sufficient space for two and are kept in good shape. For lack of alternatives you will have diner... More

Thanks very much for your "wonderful" review! We are always so pleased to have good reports about our guests' Montusi Experiences. It is an honour to be able to share our mountains with people from all over the world, especially when guests really use the mountains (for the hiking and the horse-riding) to revitalise their souls. We do hope to... More

This was our 5th visit to Montusi and we enjoyed the tranquility and scenery as much as usual. We love it here. When clouds permit, the view of the Amphitheatre is stunning. I have done many watercolours of it. I would say this is an adult destination but with children there are attractive self catering lodges which offer flexibility. Everyone... More

We arrived in flip flops from Mozambique to the lodge in snow, first time in several years! Very kindly we were offered warm coats and waterproofs . Walks fantastic, horse riding, climbing down the river all great fun. Room beautiful with warm rugs on the beds, fire. Main dining room Had roaring fire, fantastic food, and we loved eating meat... Thanks so much for your review of Montusi. That was quite an unusual winter: two snow falls in as many weeks! As South Africans we were delighted with the snow, but were pleased that it cleared up soon so our European guests, especially those in search of a bit of sunshine, could make full use of the mountains. We really... More

It is quite pricey in terms of other places we've stayed in SA but we wanted to experience some luxury and enjoyed it after our previous stay in Kruger. We arrived here after overnighting in Piet Retief. The drive from Piet Retief to Drakensberg was very long indeed!e We stayed here for 3 nights at a self catering utterly luxurious... More

This was a nice peaceful haven in the Drakensberg Mountains. Food was good, the people were nice. They were very acommodating with our check out time so that we could do a walk with a local guide. This was a little gem of a place with some fantastic views.

This is a delightful place to stay. The location is excellent, within view of the Amphitheatre and lots of wonderful walks. The accomodation is pleasant and the food excellent. Nothing to fault at all; the family really care that you have a good time and are rightly proud of the lodge.

What a treat this was. It was a bit further that we wanted to drive on our first day in South Africa but it was well worth the effort. The lodges are scattered around a pristine site with a gorgeous view from almost every angle. The lodge had a bedroom lounge area and outside shaded seating area giving ample space.... More
