Big Timber Lake Campground has been under the same family ownership since the 1970s and has been continually improved during that time. During most daylight hours the campground has “rangers” at the entrance to greet and direct new arrivals. There is an electric gate that prevents entry after hours without an electronic swipe-card issued on check-in but the card requires... More

This is a nice family campground. There are a lot of seasonals but still a weekend campground. There is plenty for the family and the children to do to keep themselves occupied. The area attractions and near by restaurants are unbelievable. Cape May is a nice place to visit as is the board walk at Wildwood and a little gambling... More

We stayed after Labor Day, so it was pretty empty. There are tons of things to do. The kids played basketball in the basketball court, went fishing and wanted to swim and play mini golf but we didnt get around to it. The showers did cost a quater but big deal! They were clean and pretty hot. A quarter got... More

There are many nicer campgrounds at the Jersey Shore. All the others we called for a last minute camping trip were full so we settled for here. Big Mistake. This is not a family campground so be forewarned if you like a quiet, family atmosphere with well planned social activites, security, clean camp store, friendly staff do not stay here!... More

The moment we pulled in, the gate person was very nice as was everyone else. We tried constantly to connect to the Wi-Fi, but just could not. Then a pop up came on while trying to connect asking to pay for the service??? Never was able to connect. First place we have ever stayed where you have to pay for... More

I've stayed here for 13-14 years as a veteran family camper. BTL is a family-owned campground that draws a line to maintain a family atmosphere. It's hard to imagine the bathrooms anything but good (cleaned twice/day)--nighttime is weakest following the afternoon cleaning. Showers are consistently warm/hot and cost a quarter for 5-6 minutes. The pool is fine and crowded mid-season.... More

There are 2 bath houses; ones always clean, and the other is usually dirty. To get a private site you have to be on the perimeter otherwise its like staying on a busy highway because God forbid anyone drives under 20. Other than that the pool is nice, you can usually manage to catch a handful of fish in an... More

we stayed for 2 weeks and were evacuated due to the Hurricane, losing 2 nights of our vacation. When we enquired for a credit or refund we spoke to the owner Chip Menz who started complaining about our tent we had (which was a screenhouse) due to the excessive amount of mosquitos. and did not want to refund our money.... This was our first camping trip in our newly purchased used 2002 Flagstaff pop-up. It turned out to be a Griswald type of trip. While opening the camper, the main cable snapped (ten year old camper.... it was bound to snap at some point). The maintenance guys from the campground and one of the owners came over and muscled the... More

My family and I went to Big Timber Lake for our first time this year. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The facilities were so clean! The whole campground was beautiful. I can't wait to come back next year!
