My daughters go here every year. We started when they were very young. I'm a single parent and did a ton of research and picked Glen Ellis and I have been glad I did ever since. It is a very family friendly place, plenty of room so you're not on top of other campers and in general a great community... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in August 2012 and had a great time! It was very family orientated, and everyone was very friendly. Our kids (10, 7 and 2) had a blast tubing down the river. They also had a movie outside one night for the kids and had other activities throughout the week. The bathhouses were cleaned 2-3... More

We had booked a 6 day stay at another local campground that we'd been to before (a longstanding family tradition). Unfortunately, Irene and some other issues have been unkind to that other place (which shall remain nameless), and we were extremely disappointed upon our arrival there. After spending a day there, we were desperate enough to get out that we... More

We enjoyed our stay at Glenn Ellis. The wide open spaces, mountain views and the sound of the river, make this campground very relaxing and enjoyable. My kids loved tubing down the river. I wish I had brought their life jackets, though. The river can get pretty swift and there were a few nervous Mommy moments. Also, bring water shoes.... More

We stayed 2 nights at Glenn Ellis last weekend and had a great time. The campground is beautifully maintained and is clearly a very popular place. The campground was fully booked during our stay, but it wasn't uncomfortably full at all. The camp sites are somewhat close together, but there is enough room for everything you bring and the people... More

Beautiful, well cared for campground. Variety of sites from primitive sites you have to carry your gear into, to sites large enough for the biggest rigs. Located between 2 rivers and handy to many attractions and activities. Staff and owners are professional, helpful, and friendly. Constantly making improvements. They suffered signifigant damage last August due to Hurricane Irene and repairs... More

I have tent camped in many places across the northeast, but Glen Ellis is by far the best place I've family camped yet! We arrived and checked in with the overly friendly office staff who gave us the lay of the land and the rules of the campground. They also reminded us of the possibility of bear being in camp.... My daughter and I spent the night here after a day at Storyland. At $40/ night, it is expensive for a campground, but cheaper than a hotel, and we are good at car camping. The Pros: the river setting (on the Saco side, especially) can't be beat. The campsites are sandy, which seemed to cut down on the bugs, and... More

Went here for the second time this past August. It has plenty of room to play, swim and camp. As a group, we pitched tents in the open space, and also near the perimeter where a stream runs. Place has great service as the front desk provides friendly, personable check-in and check-out process. It is a great location too -... More

This is our second visit. We were here in 2005 and loved it. In '06 we got a dog. We thought that meant no more Glen Ellis. On a whim this spring I looked at the website and was thrilled to see they take dogs in September. When we arrived the staff was apologizing for the condition of the campground... More
