Stayed for 3 nights with my family. Everything was done nicely and professionally from the reservations; to ordering cots; over-staying check out for a few hours; keeping breakfast available longer than scheduled.......they made it all easy. The old building has been nicely restored and the place is well furnished. This place is a really good value (thus the 5 stars... More

Stayed here to celebrate our anniversary. The room was beautiful with exposed beams, shuttered windows with a river view and a really cozy bed. The fireplace was a nice touch and the bathtub was wonderful. The hot tub was relaxing but I wish they had a swimming pool too. Staff were very pleasant.

I recently stayed at the Common Man and was pleasantly surprised. The Inn is something that you would find in the "big" city. Not in a small New England town. Everyone on staff was cheerful and made sure my stay was pleasant. I would definitely stay there again. The rates may be on the high side but you get your... More

We recently stayed overnight in the Terrace Suite courtesy of the management due to a not so pleasant visit last November. Everyone from the front desk reception, dining staff and housekeeping were extremely friendly and professional. Our sleeper sofa was made up in advance (as requested), check in was quick and easy and the room clean and comfortable. It was... More

We happened upon this hotel and restaurant by chance and were so pleasantly surprised. Each room is unique and extraordinary. Several are 2 floors and one is all stone! The river water was really rushing and it goes under a clear panel in the floor of the restaurant where you can also sit out side and eat. The staff was... More

We stayed at the Common Man over a holiday weekend with our three year old and our dog, and we coordinated our visit with two other families with young kids. Our goal was to relax and also introduce the kids to skiing for the first time. We took them to the Arrowhead Recreation Area ski hill, ~1 mile away, which... More

What a nice surprise! Old converted mill - retaining much of the character. Stayed for business but would come back for couple or family-time! Hotel is decorated beautifully but unpretentious. Quaint country comfortable chairs and couches scattered throughout. Coffee and hot chocolate available 24/7. The Fitness Center was just enough - clean and good selection of equipment. Restaurant and bar... More

This Inn is built in an old mill situated on a river which formerly provided its power. The rooms are spacious clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. I was traveling alone on business but this is the type of spa hotel most wives or girlfriends would enjoy. The food was very good but a bit on the... More

We used a groupon special to stay for two nights. Stayed in a standard room. Very comfortable and clean. Had a streetside room, I imagine the river side views were much nicer but this was fine. Breakfast was as billed, a continental. Good coffee. Could use a second waffle iron and toaster as the wait was long for both. Fresh... More

Skiing in the area and looking for something different. Stayed in a two-story suite just to see how they converted the old mill. Great service, nice atmosphere, and good character. Neat to have the river running through a couple of falls just outside the windows. The bed was best I remember in years of traveling. Almost made me late getting... More
