Did not stay at the Hotel but did visit the casino for an hour. The customer service was good and the slots paid enough to keep me playing. The beverages were cold unlike a few other places on Fremont. I will definately visit the El Cortez again and get a room there.

The hotel is off the main downtown area. We did not stay there, but wanted to check it out, so we walked there and gambled a little. I stayed in an older (original?) room at the El Cortez during a cold snap in Vegas. The heating system apparently served all the rooms in my section and didn't come close to taking the chill off.
