I can't add anything to what has already been said about the accommodation and lovely breakfast. Having the lounge on the same level as the bedrooms is inspired as it prevents that imposing feeling I get in someone else house. Lovely balcony too. I found the blind in the bedroom not enough to block the early morning light but that... More

Based on the tone of some TripAdvisor reviewer comments, my wife and I were a little uncertain about the suitability of some of the motel accommodations in the Scottsbluff area when we were passing through in mid-September 2012, so we opted for a somewhat out-of-the-way but highly rated B&B with an unusual name, the Barn Anew. What a lucky decision... More

My wife and I stayed for one night only and were very impressed. Alan and Char were very friendly and were happy to give us a full tour of the property which is full of historical artefacts from the region. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and the fact that my wife is vegetarian was not a... More

Alan and Char Maybee run this beautiful B&B in Mitchell, NE, just west of the Scottsbluff National Monument. The building is a converted 1900 horse barn (of which they have lots of photos from when it was a working farm) now filled with their travel and adventure souvenirs and fabulour native american artifacts. The four bedrooms are spacious, well furnished,... More

Seeing Scottsbluff and the Mitchell pass was wonderful from the balcony. If you don't mind train whistle many times throughout the day and night you will be fine staying here and getting the rest you need. The rooms are small but the common room is very roomy. Allan is full of many stories and can keep you entertained if that... More

We rolled into Mitchell at about 9:30 on a Friday night and were pleasantly surprised by the bluegrass jam session happening in the bunkhouse at Barn Anew. Alan and Cher were gracious and educational hosts along with Molly, the Australian shepherd. The B&B is immaculate, comfortable, and beautiful. The wilderness motif is perfectly appropriate for this part of the country.... More

The hosts here are very warm and interesting people. The tour of the barn made the antiques inside come to life. Each room has different western memorablia and theme. No TVs in the rooms but there is a nice gathering room for all guests to share. The only slight criticisms I can think of is that the rooms didn't have... More

This is a 100 year old barn which has had the upstairs converted into 4 bedrooms with private baths. There is an upstairs den with a fireplace, TV and samll refrigerator for guests. You can enjoy your morning coffee from the balcony overlooking Scottsbluff. Allan and Cher were gracious hosts. They had many Indian pieces in their home that they... More

We stopped at Barn Anew for the second time, about 10 days ago. The first time was two years ago -- see my first review dated August 1, 2010 down below. Everything said there still applies this time ..... only this time we stayed for three nights instead of one ..... to really let the relaxing and rejuvenating atmosphere soak... More

I'll admit it: Scottsbluff wasn't on my radar of places to see. I went for business. When I pulled up to my company booked highway hotel, my heart sank. I needed to make more of this trip. Some coffee shop locals told me about Barn Anew, and it changed my trip. This meticulous restored barn in the middle of a... More
