The place in in transition - to America's Best Inn - and maybe it was the wrong time to stay there. I've been staying there for years, but now the internet service is almost nonexistent. It works in early morning, and absolutely died in evenings. When I complained to two different people, I got two different excused. Plus, their prices... More

We were looking forward to Missoula, having read that it is vibrant and full of great shops and restaraurants (where were they?) Presuming that, as promised, Mountain Valley Inn is a hop and a skip from downtown so we didn't mind too much that the motel was rather dreary. But where was downtown? Where was the vibrancy? We went into... More

If you don't like or need sleep, this is the place for you. All night long your room will be bombarded by hospital helicopters lifting-off and landing at the visible hospital helo port with engines whirling and bright red/white lights flashing. If that isn't enough, all night long, every hour on the hour, a nearby clanging, tinny sounding clock bangs... More

I'm glad I didn't have my family with me. I felt safe in the room, but it was definetly run down. MVI definetly trys but I would have been much more comfortable spending an extra $20 and staying at a chain. Not very clean, terribly run down bathroom, and the bed has seen much better days. More

We really enjoyed this Hotel. Its not anything fancy but is very clean. The biggest seller was the location. When we are on vacation we like to visit the local bars and resturants and explore their brews on tap. This is walking distance to some of the best resturants and bars in the town. Will stay here every visit to... More

I don't think anyone could deny that the Mountain Valley Inn has seen better days but, despite the slightly tired appearance of the room, it was clean, spacious and comfortable, which are really the important things. Had a couch and fridge too. Good selection at breakfast, better at weekends than weekday, but still plenty to choose from. They also run... More

This motel is located downtown missoula. Shops, dining etc. are just a couple of blocks away. The motel is fairly clean, rooms are basic (with tv), and spacious, but not really exciting. There is a small breakfast lounge with cereal, waffles, juice, coffee etc. The motel has hallways, so has a bit the feel of a hotel (just a bit,... More

I typically will default to chain motels, but I have to say, the Mountain Valley Inn really, really impressed me. I booked based on the reviews here, and the hotel did not disappoint. After a week of hotel stays, this was by far the cleanest, nicest, and quietest I've been in. The location is wonderfully close to great restaurants and... More

I guess that "quality" is kind of relative in nature; it depends upon the location, the place, and the potential clientele. Missoula is very much a university town and, in my experience, such places are always more expensive. Having read the writeups on the MVI, we booked immediately but were somewhat disappointed with the overall experience. I think "marginal quality"... More

Location was great, Walking distance to downtown- Bars & Restaurants. Price was very reasonable & included breakfast bar (waffles, bagels, etc). Also had a computer for guests to use which was very convenient. Overall great value! More
