Stayed 4 nights at this hotel. Food was fine and wait staff good. Loved the bartender! Rooms were typical of Red Lion but some housekeeping things were not attended to. Stayed at the Red Lion in the state capitol after booking through Priceline. The room was quite large with a nice comfortable king size bed. The Colonial is, yes, a large convention hotel in small Helena - but a very personal feel remains and has remained through the years here. The hotel has always taken its role seriously as a welcome center for regional and national travelers. Clean and well appointed...remodeled. Friendly.

Some Red Lions are very nice, while others I won't stay at. The Red Lion in Helena is an older hotel, but the rooms are comfortable, updated and clean. Visited the Red Lion for a few days as we were at a conference, check in was quick, and the staff was very nice. Rooms were very clean, roomy and bathrooms were nice. No flat screen TV's, which was a disappointment. Dinners that were catered by the Red Lion were also very good. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved staying here the 3x we have stopped. Very clean and comfy! The shuttle driver brought us downtown and showed us a couple of good places to go . The service has always been great. We will be back whenever we can!
