First off, customer service, hallways, the lodge, and the bar are all wonderful. The rooms are fun and super old school. The bathrooms are very very very small. That is the only negative thing I can say... If your 250+ lbs you will need to find Nother place to shower

The original room we reserved ended up overlooking the parking lot and kitchen without any real view of the mountains. Staff quickly allowed us to have another room with both a balcony and superb view. The only reason I can't provide five stars is that there was definitely something "amiss" with the dinner, for which I was refunded without complaint.... More

Don't go for the rooms ~~ they are sparse & rustic. But certainly go for the extraordinary and beautiful lobby and resort ~~ so special that Disney's Wilderness Lodge seemed to strive to duplicate it. The pictures on line hardly do it justice. You may find yourself in awe at the opportunity to stay at such an authentic lodge in... More

We loved this place. Good location for the park and casual day trips. We were very happy were our accommodations here. We did not spend a lot of time in our room so we were very happy. It was very clean which is our #1 requirement.

We visited Glacier in 2011. East Glacier Park Lodge at $200+ per night was for us a huge ripoff. Small rusting bathroom sink, and dingy tiny room. The front desk kept promising that something better would come up and it never did, so we spent over $600 for 3 days. The Mexican restaurant in town was great.

Thanks for interacting with us on TripAdvisor. I’m very sorry that your stay with us was not as accommodating as you expected. Please keep in mind that the historic lodges in and around Glacier were built at the beginning of the last century by the Great Northern Railroad and were completely modern for the times. A stay in them today,... More

The lodge is beautiful and the rooms are adequate. The bathrooms are very very small and cramped and you could hear a lot of outside noise while in the room. Since we didn't spend a lot of time inside the room, this wasn't a big deal. The lodge itself is beautiful. The lobby was a nice place to hang out... More

Thanks for taking your time to interact with us on TripAdvisor. The bathrooms are small as they were added to each room for guest comfort not that long ago. Communal bathrooms were how the Lodge was originally built. Yes, the walls are not the thickest. Thanks for having a good mindset and realizing that it is not about a stay... More

We last visited Glacier in June of 2008. Time flies. Stayed at the Glacier Park Lodge. Didn't get to drive the Going to The Sun Road. Closed. Drove it in 1997. Everyone should drive it. Not to be missed. The Glacier Park Lodge was most delightful. We took the Red Bus tour to Waterton and had high tea there. Not... More

We appreciate your review. I would like to mention one tiny little detail, though. In and around Glacier National Park, (and Waterton) the Historic Lodges are owned/operated by Glacier Park, Inc. and not Xantera. We look forward to your next visit. Next time, you should not wait so long in-between visits. If you want to drive the Going-to-the-Sun-Road, I have... More

The lodge is beautiful. The rooms are what you would expect in a national park lodge. I have 2 complaints. Lighting in the room is very dim. I realize it is for the good of the enviornment, however, as an older person it made it hard to read. The bathroom was ridiculously small. I had to stand sideways to brush... More

Some of those bathrooms are quite small as they were added to each room for guest comfort not that long ago. Communal bathrooms were how the Lodge was originally built. For the most part, our guests are willing to put up with that inconvenience as a part of the historic experience. However, sometimes it can be a bit much, especially... More

I was not expecting much - I knew the lodge was old and there were no amenities. The lobby was impressive as well as the views. The room was large but you could hear the guests above you walking around - the bathrooms were teeny tiny. We did not eat in the formal dining room however the food in the... More

Do your homework prior to booking a stay: it it an old, historical building, the walls are thin, there is no elevator! it is clean, has a friendly atmosphere, the dining room is very very good(high quality meats, veggies with great service) There have been a few negative comments about the noise level, the cleanliness, etc.--but I think knowing what... Thank you so much for your interaction. Comments like yours are nice to have around when there are so many folks that seem to not grasp the concept of what to expect. This building is 99 years old and carries a legacy with it. There are some difficult decisions when it comes to replacing vs. repairing anything to do with... More
