Really beautiful lodge on the way to the Glacier National Park. Quite expensive but if you plan to go to the Glacier National park at the morning - this is a really great starting point. Great view, nice rooms (except the lower floors, terrific main lodge, nice souvenir shop.

We stayed for one night in late August after arriving on the Empire Builder train from Portland. The lobby of Glacier Park Lodge is amazing, well worth seeing, especially if you have read a little about its history. The grounds in front of the hotel are also quite beautiful, with a lovely, large garden between the train station and hotel.... More

This is one of the original lodges in Glacier National Park. Easy transportation access by car, train, or plane. The interior of the lodge has the original huge douglas fir logs transported from Michigan by train flat-bed cars. The exterior and grounds are well maintained as well as the interior of the lodge.

Took Amtrak over to the East Glacier train stop for a three day adventure in Glacier Park. While the park is unbeleivable, and the Red Bus Tours are excellent, the photo's on the Glacier Park Lodge hide the less than adequate upkeep and facilities of the rooms. We paid for a larger room and still got what others said...lumpy beds,... More

We are very sorry that your stay with us was not as accommodating as you expected. The historic lodges in and around Glacier were built at the beginning of the last century by the Great Northern Railroad and were completely modern for the times. A stay in them today, is “turning back the clock” to a different era. Our rooms... More

In August we went on a three week road trip. We began our trip at Glacier National Park and stayed one night at the Glacier Park Lodge. I had seen the Lodge on TV back in New Hampshire on a program about a variety of National Park Lodges. When I saw the Glacier Park Lodge, I knew I wanted to... More

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night , The rooms were spacious but very noisy as the wooden floors creaked. It was quite uncomfortable. The setting is beautiful but thats all there is to talk about. The breakfast was BAD

The hotel is located just east of Glacier National Park. It has the most beautiful grounds. We visited during a heat wave in July 2012, when the temps were 95+ every day. The hotel is very old, historic and the rooms are no-frills. They do not have air conditioning or ceiling fans, which in normal weather conditions would not have... More

Far drive but with it, definitely amazing for period built. The surrounding park is beautiful great hiking and kayaking. Plenty of waterfalls within a few mile hike. Lots of bears in the area, still some glaciers left, see them before the disappear completely. Be aware no TV's in most N.P. lodges just you and nature.

You don't stay at these classic, historic national park lodges to have a five-star spa experience. You stay to experience the history and the architecture up close, to imagine what it was like 100 years ago. This lodge was our gateway to Glacier National Park in late August. It was magnificent for what it was. Yes, the lobby looks a... More

The Lodge is an interesting historic building with great public spaces and a dining room we thoroughly enjoyed (both for breakfast and dinner), and we highly recommend that you check out the lobby and try the restaurant. Note that the bar and the restaurant have the same menu for dinner, but the restaurant was significantly quieter and cooler. However, you... More
