The Inn is located on a bay right off Flathead lake and is a no-kidding artist colony with a main street full of shops with artists who work in all kinds of mediums. A lot better class of people than me occupy the area during the summer, but when we stopped by on Sept 20, they'd all left so we... More

We stayed in the "Portofino" apartment, which is operated by Margarit from the Swann River Inn, for one week and my back is still aching. The decor of the place is nice, but, for some reason, the owner decided to skimp, big time, on the bed and pillows. The mattress is a no-brand one that she must have bought on... More

We stayed one night after leaving Glacier in the arabian, went to bed early, all the rooms in the inn back up to the kitchen we had to suffer banging, clattering and pounding from 9 pm to 11 pm then at midnight the cleaning crew started till 3 am more noise the garbage was hauled out right below our room... Wow! Interesting to see all of these other complaints, wish we would have seen these before we booked our wedding! Granted we planned our wedding about 2 months before we had it there. When we first called Margrit gave us a very reasonable offer and let us know that we were the only wedding that evening. A couple days before... More

Do not fall for this trap. The Swan River Inn, while enchanting and quaint, is a mirage. The place is owned and run by Margrit, a money-grubbing, ruthless, disrespectful woman. We spent over $15,000 to hold our wedding at this cute little inn on the lake, and the aftermath was a nightmare. It started with our honeymoon suite; we booked... More

We had to circle the building twice to figure out where to check in. We finally went upstairs to the restaurant and waded our way though a bunch of drunk wedding guests to the bar to ask where to check in. The first staff person had no idea and she got another employee to help us. We checked in at... More

I attended a wedding at the Swan River Inn recently and would like to tell about my experience. After the ceremony was over, we all headed down to the reception room. There were probably 50 people in this room and it was about 95 degrees out. We were all dripping sweat and were not given water for 2+ hours. Our... More

I'm not one to be picky or write reveiws either. However, my experience was awful as well. My husband and I booked a room for our anniversary. We were told that although the "Portofino" room was not near Flathead Lake and separate from the inn, it was great and brand new. When we arrived and were able to see our... More

We researched BigFork and chose the Swan River Inn for its location and the fact that all the rooms were suites. A phone call gave us choices of rooms, and we reserved the Africa Suite. Having been to Africa twice ourselves, we can attest that the decorations are very well done. It was comforatable, clean, and the tin of coffee... More

I have never written a review before - good or bad. However, my poor experience has motivated me. Like a similar review, I was thrilled to find an open room on a Saturday afternoon for that very Saturday night. I was informed we could check in one hour from the phone conversation and we were slotted for the cheapest room... More
