Travelled with a group of 9 ladies from south aust and stayed at Govenor's lodge in April. First night we went to their inhouse restaurant Baileys, Every one enjoyed their meals although there was no fish available due to the rough fishing weather. Also tried some local cocktails afterwards at the adjacent bar. The charming waiter with the flower behind... More

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your recent stay. It is nice to read that my staff provided you a fun and entertaining stay. I am sorry you had to find out about some of the supply shortages we had on Norfolk recently. With rough seas, getting the supply ship unloaded is a struggle. Hence the lack of butter... More

Another stay at this hotel. Enjoyed our stay there again and I am sure if it had been the first time we had visited this property we would have been extremely happy. It is sad though to see some things have changed. No longer is there a breakfast buffet where you could chose from a variety of foods but a... More

It is pleaseing to read you had another fantastic stay with us on Norfolk Island. We have been making some changes recently to the offerings that we have, and this includes the a la carte menu for breakfast. The menu was put in place to resolve the negative feed back we had recieved in regards to the buffet. Many guest... More

At first sight, this property appeared to be little more than a very upmarket caravan park. I was however pleasantly surprised. The cabins are very modern, well appointed, spacious and private. The gardens and surroundings are picturesque. It's positioned an easy walk from town and the restaurant had an incredible fresh food menu that can't be beaten. We ate there for... More

Your comment about the 'caravan park' made me smile. I am very glad we changed your opinon quickly about us. I'am glad you enjoyed the resort and its facilities, with not a caravan in sight. The team work very hard at maintaining the grounds andd rooms, and it is a reflection off their dedication. I hope all your future stays... More

Have just returned from 7 nights at Govenor's Lodge and enjoyed every minute of it. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with king size bedroom, kitchenette, table, two lounges and tv in both bedroom and lounge. The grounds are beautiful visually and very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was generous, well priced and in enjoyable surroundings. A lovely flat 15 minute... More

We have just returned from spending 4 days at Norfolk Island and stayed at Governor's Lodge. The staff there were so very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as carefree as possible. The cabins are clean, comfortable, surrounded by gardens and set out so that you have a lot of privacy. Several websites had the... More

On Norfolk they use the term "Resort" rather loosely but Governors Lodge is one of the better places to stay. It consists of 55 cabin tyoe accommodation, neat and tidy and all you need. A microwave is included but no other cooking facilities and laundry is by coin in the slot machines located next vto the hotels main laundry Governors... More

The photos from the brochure did not fill me with confidence but I was pleasantly surprised by Governor's Lodge. Check in was a breeze and the staff were amazingly friendly as is the whole island. I cannot speak highly enough of Norfolk as a destination. I would like to point out that I am 30 years old and the Island... More

Staying at Governor's Lodge Resort is probably the best & most convenient accommodation on the Island. The duty free shopping is a bit outdated and there are no bargains to be had - that we could find anyway. The local supermarket is a bit sad so self catering is quite difficult to cope with. There is no AC at all... More

Very nice accommodation and about a 20 minute walk to shops and a few restaurants including the Chinese restaurant which is the only BYO restaurant on the island. Rooms are not air conditioned but ceiling fans are adequate for most of the time. Also, no in room security safes which is a must for a four star hotel. Buffet breakfast... More
