It was a big shock to arrive and discover that as from 1/12/2010 the hotel was no longer part of the Accor group. We could find no obvious reason as to why the new owners were not invited to still be part of Accor Group. The hospitality was excellent, and the staff always smiling.

I read this site to get ratings of the hotel prior to our stay and noticed the two negative comments which worried us a little, but this was washed away after the first day there. I do believe the troubled reports are prior to when the new management took control of the hotel late last year and this may have... More

We were quite disappointed with this hotel as we booked on line and photos are quite deceiving. We booked garden rooms these were at the back of the kitchen where all the rubbish was kept with nowhere to sit outside. The rooms were really basic and needed updating. The cost of the rooms were far more than they were worth. The Fijian staff were... There is a wooden lattice wall that separates the accomodation block from the kitchen. All the Garden Rooms do not have a balcony except for our Executive Poolside rooms. We would have been happy to move them to another Garden room but the hotel was fully occupied and we could do much. We are relooking at the current wall and... More

The Colonial is an adequate 3 star motel, but our nightmare started on arrival as we had booked the only wheelchair accessible room & were shown to a tiny, tired-looking room where the wheelchair wouldn't fit beside the bed or in the bathroom door. We were immediately told this was our TAs fault as they had requested a ground floor... More

I really liked the rotundas. Just sitting there as the sun set, a glass of red in hand, letting the sun go down without trying to help it get there faster. That's relaxation, for me anyway. I was staying at the Colonial Hotel of Norfolk Island, which must be one of the friendliest places I've ever been to. All the... More
