All, in all, not a terrible stay. My fiance & I were looking for an "authentic" route 66 spot to stay for the night. We checked in @ the wagon wheel. True, the location was authentic historic route 66 location . As was the old neon roadside sign (unlit throughout the night as far as we could tell). The employee... More

This place is a very nice place to stop. This has to be a labor of love for the owners and is shows. The place is very well maintained, both the grounds and the room. My room was spotless and well furnished. When I check in I was given a single room. It was very small so I asked for... More

We have stayed at the Wagon Wheel a bunch of times, and it has been great every time. Connie has done a great job restoring the place, and it's very warm, cozy and inviting. There is absolutely NO reason to stay at one of the boring chains when there is something so beautifully historic right nearby. More

The new owners here have done a lot to make this property a destination in itself. The rooms have been redone and are clean and fresh. The owner is always around and always takes time to make sure everything is going well. If you are planning any kind of trip on Historic Rt 66 It will not be complete without... More

What a lucky break for us that I was looking though tripadvisor while in route from my parents in Indiana to our home in Texas because I happen to stumble upon the Wagon Wheel! I was looking for hotels off of highway 44 and noticed the quaint looking pictures of the Wagon Wheel and the good reviews. We decided since... More

A route 66 trip was planned for a while with my wife. The Wagon Wheel is one of those places I HAD to stay at. Problem was, when we called in there was a car show that weekend and there was limited rooms available. Connie made provisions to get us a room and made my Route 66 dream to stay... More

We stayed in a Jacuzzi suite & both my husband & I really enjoyed our 1 night stay at the Wagon Wheel Motel. Connie is really lovely & helped us out when we needed it. We were recommended a stay here & what a great recommendation. The Motel feels authentic & peaceful! Plus... it has a laundry... so we were... More

So, this place is super cute! What folks say about the rooms being small is true....but I think it really adds to the historic feeling of the place. The folks are very friendly. They had great recommendations on local places to eat, and it is wonderful that they are preserving this bit of Route 66 history. We stayed in room... More

The Wagon Wheel Motel was our first Route 66 iconic motel on our trip across the US. Yes, the rooms are small as were most hotels rooms back during the heyday of 66. Connie did a great job of refurbishing the rooms to meet the needs of travelers. We liked pulling our car up to our door and being able... More

The historic Wagon Wheel Motel is a true oasis of serenity where the simplicity of the past blends seamlessly with the modern era. The owner, Connie Echols, has gone to great strides to preserve the illusion the motel is a time capsule while keeping in mind the modern traveler requires modern amenities. More
