The Archer House is in just about the best Northfield location -- smack in the middle of downtown, only a couple blocks from the Carleton College campus, a mile or so from St. Olaf and next to a truly wonderful Indian restaurant (Chapati). This is a very friendly hotel with excellent service. My phone calls (booking, confirming and questions) were always answered promptly, and not by an answering machine. Although my stay was just for 1 night, I would recommend this hotel especially if you are visiting Carlton College.
